Could this mean they are losing patience with Linkenbach?

Dear God.

It means nothing of the sort. It means that Diem is out. It means that Castanzo is out. It means both guards, Reitz & Pollak are out. It means the Colts starting o-line on Sunday will feature:

a starter playing a different position than what he did on opening day (Link)

2 guards who were either just recently activated from the PS or signed (Olsen and Tepper)

a RT who was unemployed a month ago

Speaking of Roster moves, the Bears cut safety Chris Harris today. He would be an upgrade over both Caldwell and Lefeged.

At this point, what would be the purpose? The only reasons you would do that would be:

1) There was another injury further depleting that position - only real reason

2) You were actually in contention - they are not

3) You want to bring Harris back next year - highly doubtful

I think they are better off trying to develop the young guys they have back there now. Find out if those guys improve as they gain experience.

The thinking here is to bring him in for experience since the secondary has been the weakest point on the team to date. He was a probowl player last year (and still under 30) so we may find that he is better than Bullitt and worth bringing back on a 2-3 year contract after the year is up allowing us to draft a safety in the next year or two for the future.

I doubt the Colts will bring him in anyways.
