The Season is a Success

I agree.  Successful season.   even thought we need a center  a rg next year. get a passer in free agency on other side of Mathis.

Not ready to give up on Thorton. Definitely need a C. We should all start following Mack if he's on twitter. Tell him to go to the team with the most upside in the league. Great owner, GM, and a coach that the players love.

  • need center and rg  with a pass rusher on the opposite side of Mathis needs help.   21. Alex Mackarrow_Up_Green.gif center ,  pass rusher  greg hardy ,   Jon Asamoah . Michael Oher [OT, Baltimore Ravens] - Oher has been an excellent right tackle for the Ravens since his arrival. Their experiments moving him over the left side have failed, but on the right side, he's an above average run blocker and pass protector. Will anyone pay him left tackle value? If so, Baltimore could let him walk.

Oher graded out horribly for the Ravens at Right Tackle. He most certainly will be gone. Check out how he did against Jason Woirlds in the second Steelers game. Let the buyer beware. A better pick up would be DT Authur Jones who the Ravens probably not be able to retain.

pass rusher  ,  Jared Allen [DE, Minnesota Vikings] - Allen will be on the market for the first time since he became available for trade in Kansas City many years back. Maturing in Minnesota, the trade worked out about as effectively as it could have for the Vikings. Though Minnesota has as many decisions to make this offseason as any team, Allen is as likely as any to return to the organization he represents. By not re-signing him, Minnesota would put on the market arguably the "hot" free agent of the offseason.

Anthony Spencer [DE/OLB, Dallas Cowboys] - After using the franchise tag on Anthony Spencer twice, the same outcome will not repeat itself next offseason. The Cowboys will finally have to agree upon a long-term deal, something they haven't gotten done the past couple years, or cut ties with an edge player who has come into this own in back-to-back contract seasons. His transition to Monte Kiffin's Tampa 2 scheme will play a large factor in the organization's internal decision-making process.

Their experiments moving him over the left side have failed, but on the right side, he's an above average run blocker and pass protector. Will anyone pay him left tackle value? If so, Baltimore could let him walk.

Jared Veldheer [OT, Oakland Raiders] - With tremendous size and strength, Jared Veldheer's performance since 2010 as a third round pick out of Hillsdale has been as surprising as any mid-round performance. Last season, he developed into one of the game's premier pass-blocking left tackles with length and athleticism to stymie pass rushers and plenty functional strength to succeed in the run game. Though he will begin the year on the short-term IR with a triceps injury, he will have the opportunity to battle back down the stretch and cement a significant pay increase for himself.

then ready for super bowl.

WR. Anquan Boldin [san Francisco 49ers] - Justifiably unwilling to take a $2 million pay cut after a remarkable postseason campaign, Boldin was traded to the 49ers where he's earning every cent of his salary. With size, physicality, and some of the best hands in the league, Anquan Boldin appears to have a couple more solid years in front of him. His size and physicality make him a good bet to re-sign with the 49ers.

Eric Decker [Denver Broncos] - With Peyton Manning at the helm, Decker joined along for the ride with the rest of the organization experiencing a big breakout season. After the team pursued Wes Welker in the offseason to improve their slot play, expect Decker's number to drop by a slight margin. However, expect the Broncos to make a strong push to retain Decker to keep their variety in skillsets that contribute to the dynamic nature of the offense

I don't see us being in the market for any of those guys.  Some are too old, others too expensive.  Plus, none of them are really needed for the money they'll command.

Get Mack.  Continue to develop Thorton, Holmes, and Nixon.  Let Warner mature.  Build through the draft.

Worst thing would be to hamstring the salary cap for 15.  I don't see how we'll be able to keep all the guys we have at that point.

Not that it means everything, but the Colts have one pro bowl player. Roster wise, this team isn't the seahawks or 49ers.....yet. Hell, most "experts" expected the Colts to take a step back. This season has been a rousing success imo.

Pro bowlers are overrated IMO KC had 6 last year  & 8 this year but have'nt won a playoff game in 20 years  on paper & ESPN it sounds good but thats about it .

No the Colts are not the Seahawks or Niners they were the losers while the Underdog was the Top Dog in those games .

That's why I qualified the statement by saying the pro bowl isn't everything. I think it's fair to say Grigson and Co aren't finished tinkering with this roster, nor should they be.

You make it seem like we deserve to win. I'd say it was pretty clear that KC has better players, the attrition killed them.

Plus we lost three starters on offense, four if you include Bradshaw. How can you possibly think the seasons a failure?

5.

Reggie, Dwayne Allen, Donald Thomas, Vick Ballard/Ahmad Bradshaw

How soon I forget.  I'm not sure how many people (outside of this forum/Indy fans) realize how much Allen meant to the offense.  The media always talks about losing Reggie, which was a great loss.  But IMO, Allen may even have meant more.

I wouldn't go that far, but aside from Reggie, he may have been the hardest to replace.
