We certainly know you are a bad loser, so at least you are being consistent for sure. I personally prefer 'class' over 'non-class' any day. I just wonder what values you will bring your children up with, now, or if and when you have any.

There you are with the personal shots again. Are you always this angry and generally unpleasant?

If I was the man with the authority there, he'd be gone after pulling that crap. Especially when other disruptive things have happened in the past. Any player can be replaced, especially on a .500 team which continually underperforms. They underperform because they have an owner/ GM and coaching staff which accepts, excuses and condones stuff like that.

If I was the man with the plan there, he go through his petulant child act one time. I'd let him know his conduct is unacceptable and If he did it again..... Gone. I'd trade him to Buffalo.

There's been zero discipline in Dallas ever since Jimmy Johnson left. Guaranteed, he'd pull that crap only one time with him as his coach, or be gone. And there's a reason Johnson left and it wasn't just because he got burnt out. There's a common denominator there and everyone knows what it is.

I don't disagree about the leadership there but that is in part why Bryant does act the way he does. He is your best player on O so no one is trading him to Buffalo. Moss pulled the same thing one time in Minnesota as well.

Joe Montana and John Elway hated to lose but you didn't see them acting like spooned brats.

No but Marino was pretty hot-headed and of course Brady can be too. I think it is a case of different personalities. The game is emotional and some guys are more robotic and others more firey. The question is whether it is hurting or helping the team. I am not sure walking off the field really bothered anyone given the epic collapse of that game. He still needs to be talked to and told that he needs to stay with his teammates no matter the outcome of the game.

Montana demanded a trade out of SF after Youngs success.....And John Elway hated losing so bad he threatened to play an entirely different sport if he had to go to a 'certain' team......

I personally just see a guy sick of losing, and sick of the cowboys underachieving culture. At least he is showing his emotions thru his actions. Where as other players and veterans on that team aren't willing to, just continually giving company lines....

Maybe that team would be better off if some of its stars like Ware or Witten walked off or emotionally exploded.....

If this were a winning team, with a culture of winning like the Colts, or the Pats I dont think I'd support Dez. But this is a team thats made the playoffs 1 time in the last 6 years. Something obviously isnt working.

I just think a guy who is screaming at his teammates and slamming his helmet down when things don't go his way is having a breakdown and hurting his team . To me, offense is more precision than emotion...Severe emotional freak-outs (and Dez has them almost every week)  get in the way.

I think he's got larger problems.

I hope the team is trying to help him with his issues .......He's not OK

He hasn't been that bad this year other than the tantrums and leaving the sidelines. I hope to dear lord Dallas is helping him with the way that team is right now.

True, but I think Moss left with something like only 2 or 3 seconds left on the clock.

His departure is more comparable to Belichick walking off the field of SBXLII with one second left on the clock than Bryant leaving with over a minute.

Yeah because that definitely happened with Michael Irvin.

Michael Irvin had off field issues, but never did you see him pull antics like that on the field. He didn't because he knew how his coach would respond. And Irvin credits Johnson for being one of the prime reasons he got his off field issues straightened out.

Irvin stabbed some guy in the neck with a pair of scissors in the locker room and you think he would get rid of Dez because he walked off the field early?

Yes Moss did walk off with a few seconds left but his team was lining up to try an onside kick and were only down 21-18, http://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=165452

I think in Dez' case the game was over when he walked off even though there was more time.

In all three cases, the odds of winning were slim to none and I view an early departure as nothing more than poor sportsmanship.

Although in the case of Moss and Bryant, at least they have the excuse of being tired of losing.

Remember Mike Singletary sending Vernon Davis to the locker?  Similar situation Davis hated to lose and it was affecting his play so Coach sent him to the locker.  Football is played with emotion but it must be controlled, Davis seemed to control/funnel his emotion now into the game and Bryant must control his emotions.  I remember one of my coaches said, "The easiest thing to do on a loss is blame the ref, blame the coach, kick the water bucket (lol way before Gatorade) or point fingers at your teammates!  The hardest thing to do is man up and come back tomorrow, study your films, practice harder and play harder. Can you do it"?  It was a challenge to us to man up and practice harder, play smarter and play better.

Bryant maybe but not Moss. His team went to the playoffs that year despite the loss to the Skins. Of course in the WC round vs the Packers he faked mooned the Lambeau crowd in a win. Moss really was one of a kind when it came to this stuff.

    • Appreciate the response.   A few thoughts to share….   i think Irsay only steps down IF his health deteriorates.  No use in comparing him to Kraft, his health appears to be better even though he’s much older.     But if Irsay stepped aside, here’s why I don’t see the daughters blowing things up and starting over.   If they fire Ballard — fine.  But if they also fire Dodds and Brown, at that point, I think you’d see the rest of the scouting department resign (if they weren’t fired too).  They will all get good jobs elsewhere too.     At that point, Steichen is surrounded by very few who know him.  Worse for the daughters…. There would then be a clear line.   With Irsay vs with the daughters.  And if the new GM doesn’t do well and things go south, then the blame won’t go as much to the new GM as it will to the daughters who decided to blow things up.   They’ll be the focus of incredible hate if the new regime makes fans long for what looks like the good old days of the Ballard years.      The argument for not hiring Dodds or Brown seems to be little more than Ballard-hate.  Those people want nothing more to do with anyone associated with Chris Ballard.   Guilt by association, not because of ability.      Thats why I described hiring one of Dodds or Brown as the easiest, simplest, cleanest move to make.  Much less risk.  But blowing it up and starting over is the far higher risk move.  Threading a tiny needle hoping to get it right.     By the way, if you fire Ballard and company and hire a new GM, who does those interviews?   Honestly, who?   Who would you feel good about conducting the interviews of the new GM?      Firing someone is easy.  Hiring the right person is really hard.    Thanks for your patience.
    • I just want to be on record now. If the Colts fire Ballard for whatever reason in the next few years, I have no clue what direction they will go. Just wanted to get that out there in case any of you were wondering my opinion on this.
    • I understand there are a lot of people that don’t know the story. I for one am burnt out on it. I do find it funny they “stole” the Ravens from Cleveland but whine about the Colts leaving. Sports bring out the best homers and team spirit.
    • Colts by 17. Going to be a rough week for you buddy.    Thats a joke. I have no idea but would probably lean towards the Packers winning if I had to choose. I do think it’s great you may have transitioned to a third franchise QB in a row. I hope Love has a great career for you guys. Always had a soft spot for the Packers and they would probably be my team if I didn’t love the Colts. I enjoy it when you guys are good. Best of luck this year!!
    • Packers have a pretty strong and balanced team. The defense was able to hold the Chiefs to a low score last year while the offense was perhaps the only one to score over 24 points on the Chiefs defense.    But really it’s hard to say as of right now. Let’s see how everyone fares during training camp and after their season openers. Lots of things can change.
