The biggest issue ( what are any others ? )  Manning has been dealing with is a sprained right ankle, or his push-off foot as he throws.

He suffered the injury while getting hit in the end zone three games ago against Jacksonville.

It got crunched, along with the rest of his body, by Robert Mathis of Indianapolis the following week on a sack-fumble-safety.

Osweiler, the Broncos' second-year quarterback, directed the Broncos' first-team offense last Wednesday. He will do so again Tuesday and Wednesday.

"He's not going to get a whole lot of reps the next two days, I'll tell you that," Fox said.

( as Peyton rests,  new CBA rules -  The Broncos' bye week has arrived, so the players will have Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. Until then, they'll work on some self-scouting. )  so that means peyton wont practice this week

Manning  will practicenext week, when the Broncos prepare to play an AFC West opponent Nov. 10 at San Diego.

It's just that Manning is feeling the way you would expect a 37-year-old quarterback would feel at the halfway point of a 16-game, NFL season. Sore. Bruised. Banged up.

NOTE - Peyton lately has had for last 3 games bad starting position for a drive often near the goal line so not much working room,. though in the past this wasn't an issue

Thanks, Barry.   I suspected as much, and it certainly explains why he's been off his game a bit the past few games.

Hopefully this week off will get him healed up some.  They have a really tough schedule ahead.

yes they do L. , take care of yourself, u know, i dont think Bailey should come back, they dont need a rusty play yet again & Vs KC twice , Chargers & Pats

Well, that explains a lot.

Jacksonville really did go after him. A bit late on a lot of those hits, too. Naturally none of them were flagged, though so they kept on doing it.

Rodgers and Brees better be careful. Manning has a bum ankle, Brady has sausage fingers, it's not a good year injury wise for the elite QB's.

Denver's schedule gets really tough the second half - two with KC, San Diego, Pats, Texans, Titans. If KC can manage a split with Denver I think they can win the division but their schedule is pretty tough as well.

Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning not only didn't participate in the bye-week practice Tuesday, but he also didn't attend.
