A day after veteran middle linebacker Will Witherspoon re-signed with the St. Louis Rams, he revealed that John Fox had called him to discuss joining the Broncos.

Broncos say they are confident someone will step up  either  current middle linebackers Nate Irvingand Steven Johnson , if true then why seek Witherspoon

What do you expect them to say...?

'Our linebackers are all slackers'   'Call us.  We'll take anybody off the street!!'

Serioulsy, this is a bigger deal than the O-line..

They'll use a lot of 5 or 6 back sets with Jammer....as a safety/corner

.....but they are not loaded at LB, as you suggest

Denver has some defensive issues. The offense looks great as long as they can run the ball and are not completely one dimensional but the D has some holes we have to see worked out on the field later.

They will win a lot of games no doubt but in the playoffs yeah......stuff happens.

They were ranked pretty high last year in so many statistical categories on defense but I was not completely sold. I feel as if they have been struggling vs. the good offensive teams since Tebow time. I remember in 2011 the Broncos losing to the Patriots twice, Packers and Lions. Sure they beat the Steelers in the playoffs but Ben was hurt and the Steelers D just completely.....ugh.  And last year again they lose to the Pats, Falcons, Ravens in the playoffs (yes they became a good offensive team) and Houston.
