Jerry Jones could be in trouble

According to ESPN Jerry Jones could be facing severe tampering charges after not reporting a phone call between Jones and Adrian Peterson in which AP said his dream was/is to play for the Cowboys and Jones responding "I will see what We can do"

AP what the hades is wrong with you man? Minnesota now has Mike Zimmer as your HC & Norv Turner as your OC & a brand new stadium in the pipeline man.

You "dream to play for the Cowboys?" Are you insane?! Dude, the Cowboys have sucked for almost 20 years now...Order a CAT scan ASAP...The Vikings are rising man why go to the dungeon with Dallas?

Even as a joke it's not funny man seriously.

Stop trying to make Jerry Jones feel better. While noble on the surface, it's dangerous & counterproductive feeding the attention junkie like the sign at the zoo says "please don't feed the animals. Thank you."

You must remember AP is from Texas and played at Oklahoma

I don't think that's tampering...

Adrian initiated the conversation...Jerry said what you'd expect

Peterson is under long term contract with Minnesota isn't he?

Okay, maybe so PT perhaps AP was feeling homesick temporarily, but you never depart a franchise on the rise for another 1 in the doldrums. It's like siren songs in folklore tales, no matter how sweet they may indeed sound at the end of the day you are still gonna crash into the rocks & drown.

Translation: Dallas is not paradise or the 1990's era powerhouse team anymore. That swan song has left the building years ago & she's not returning with the keys glory anytime soon I'm afraid.

Given the rest of  his off season antics and the usual stand up job he's done as a GM can I vote this topic is retitled to Jerry Jones could be in more trouble. :P

Not entirely sure on the rules but I think he's culpable for not reporting the conversation to the relevant people even if he didn't initiate it.

If this is true, wow. Is Jerry trying to top himself from when he forced Jimmy Johnson to resign?

It's like this guy is on some kind of mission to see how far he can sink that team into the ground.

Just thinking about Romo and Peterson on the same team would have been a nightmare....except for his defense. Thank you Jerry for letting us have Rob Ryan, we really appreciate it, you don't know how much.

This guy is a mess of an owner. Trust me, living in Maryland we have had some great examples of horrific hands on owners namely Bob Irsay, Peter Angelo's, and Dan Synder. Jones 's Waterloo , as stated earlier, was the *ic decision to fire Jimmy Johnson. Peter Angelo's did this with the Orioles firing Davey Johnson in 1997, leading the O's to fourteen straight losing seasons. He must have had a brief period of lucidity , as he has hired Buck Showalter and Dan Ducquette. That is what Jones has to do, step back, and let real football people run the show.

    • Loved that the colts got to pick the first defensive player in the draft! I would love to see a lb with their 2nd pick!
    • The film is just incredible. He beat the blocker and ran over the running back. Just… insane.
    • I loved the pick. I had him as a dark horse because of his medical and felt he may slide because of it. Honestly, when it came to #15, he never really entered my mind, as I felt they would pass on him. People asked who they wanted at #15 and in one of my posts, I said a football player. I wanted Mitchell but I also raised the idea of Latua in other posts..  I really praise Ballard for this pick. I said he needed to come away with a play maker and there had to be some amount of pressure on him to do so. Apparently, information is out there that he tried to move up and I also said, I had a feeling this was a year they were going to try and make a move. I give a lot of credit to Ballard for picking the guy who has a lot of production and if he fails, so be it. I also told people on this board that this pass rush was not good enough. Ballard's eagerness to sign Hunter should have been a sign that he felt so as well. I said to watch free agency and it will tell you what their true needs are. He wanted Hunter and Sneed. The rumor is that he wanted to trade up into the 1st and everyone is saying it was probably a receiver. That is shocking to me but once again, I will give Ballard an A+ so far, because he was willing to be aggressive.  I do Steichen is having some influence on Ballard because of his days with the Eagles and how aggressive they are in the draft. I think this shows that he realizes that he needs to have play makers to play with the elite teams and you have to take some risk to get those type of players. I have been hard on Ballard, but he has knocked it out of the park so far. He took a guy with a questionable medical history, addressed a glaring need and a position that is needed to make this defense work. Don't be mislead by last year's sack totals. This team lost a pile of games in the 4th quarter last year because they could not pressure the qb. Now he needs a wr, S and corner. I wouldn't be surprised to see him move up in the 2nd. Way to go Ballard!!!
    • It seems most of his pass rush production has been as a standing OLB. He does have reps with his hand on the ground where he's produced as well, but he was asked to rush standing up most of the time. Hopefully that isn't a big transition for him, because it is for some people.
