What moves should I make?

Recommended Posts

All you fantasy football gurus, I need your advice. We did our draft and my team looks like this:

QBs:

-Tony Romo

-Ben Roethlisberger

WRs:

-Julio Jones

-Andre Johnson

-Steve Smith (Carolina)

-Kendall Wright

-Robert Meachem

RBs:

-LeSean McCoy

-Chris Johnson

-Marshawn Lynch

-Beanie Wells

TEs:

-Aaron Hernandez

-Jermaine Gresham

K:

-Garrett Hartley

Def:

-San Francisco

Each week, we start 2 QBs, 3 WRs, 2 RBs, a TE, a K, a DEF, and a WR/RB/TE Flex. What moves/trades should I make, if any? I was hoping to improve my QB situation. I have 3 starting caliber WRs and 4 starting caliber RBs I could trade. It's an 8 team league, so most players have been taken. I was hoping to take a player who also does returns so I could get points for returns and for their role in the offense. What do you guys suggest?

Im not too high on Beanie this year you might want to keep an eye on the Cardinals and Ryan Williams in FA. I know you cant always have a roster full of guys you like but on your team my top people I'd be looking to move are Big Ben, Meachem, CJ2K, Beanie, and Gresham (for the sake of a top 5) Maybe if you couple Big Ben with one of those you could get something like Cutler, Stafford, or Matt Ryan (in order of my preference) and depending on who you give/who your going for you might be able to get a big upgrade at WR or TE...I love to play the waiver wire too but unless there is a promising reciever you could drop Meachem or maybe even Wright if you are feeling iffy on him then I'd hold off for now.

I'm gonna try to trade Roethlisberger for Eli somehow. I have some good RBs I could trade away. I'm also thinking of trading Hernandez and another piece for Gates and RG3. I need a QB. I don't like how Roethlisberger has a partially torn rotator cuff. With that said, Haley did air it out the last time he had a legitimate QB (Warner).

    • I think we are seeing growth from Ballard as a GM, which is what I would think everyone would hope for. He’s gone after free agents (even though they didn’t come here), he drafted a qb, put offers to move up in the 1st, and now drafted an edge that is actually productive instead of off upside. Hope it continues.
    • My bad, you’re right.  I don’t know who stats I was looking at last night lol.  Hennessy will do that. ;(   Well, Trey production might’ve been due to him being in a rotation over there in NO before he got to Cincy, with him being a third rounder.  But either way, Trey turned it on year 4.  So you’re right, I’ll give qwitty one more year.  Not saying qwitty is bad, but we do need more from that position.  And it seems Ballard and co agrees as this is his second attempt at trying to upgrade that position this off-season.   I agree with the pick, we can’t wait and hope for something when we have an opportunity to possibly upgrade at a premium position and one of the highest paying positions.  Due to the way the draft played out, We had the opportunity to pick the FIRST defensive player off the board, which also mean probably the BEST defensive player on the board (depending on how whoever looks at it).  We don’t know when we’ll have that opportunity if ever again.
    • Well said. For me the injury concern isn't the "right now" as much as it is "will it effect his longevity?" Unless I am forgetting someone, Manning is the only recollection I have of a similar sitch....Different position/age/etc. but he held up for like 3 or so years, before his skills diminished beyond effective......again I understand the differences but I don't think its known what the expectations are for any individual long term.....I hope its for a good long time.....but it does concern me, mostly because its not an injury procedure that has a lot of examples to draw from in terms of how it plays out long term.
    • Context is king. Thank you for sharing that. I'll look up some more information on his situation, or at least I will if my dang eye every slows down on swelling!
