We still don't know if he tore his shoulder yet do we?

This thread could mean nothing if he's busted up his shoulder.

Yes I am also interested to see what the deal is…I have yet to find any information (even rumors) regarding the injury.

It offers zero help to me…if you miss the end zone by inches you also get the same result…0 points…so yea, make the kicks already. The days of Mr automatic Vinny I get are gone but dudes gonna cost us games.

Im sorry you feel that way.  It would appear the Colts don’t share that viewpoint.

The Colts have made it clear they are committed to Gay and aren’t worried about him.  He will cost 10 million to release.  They aren’t cutting him until he becomes a problem is regular season games.  They also aren’t cutting him for a rookie who has hit two field goals in his NFL pre-season career right now.

it’s fine to disagree with the Colts opinion and to state it but to honestly expect them to do something different is ignoring reality.  Also going thread to thread derailing them because you don’t like what the Colts are doing isn’t needed.  This type of posting is starting to run off good posters.  This isn’t targeted at anyone poster as several are doing it.  Just general encouragement to try to keep threads on topic.  Also before someone says who am I to police the forum I am not one and I don’t have the power to police the forum.  I am just a long time poster trying to make a suggestion to make this place enjoyable for everyone.  If that upsets you or offends you rest assured there is nothing I can do about your posting.

This thread is supposed to be about Josh Bean.  let’s get it back there.  I really like the kid but without news of his shoulder injury I don’t think you can say Sam has to be cut for him.  I think there is a real chance they stash Bean on IR and keep Sam to finish out his contract.

For the record, this is the very first time I have ever said anything about Matt Gays missed kicks.  But yes, back to Bean

    • And Aikman lost every one of his games his rookie year. He completed 52% of his passes, threw 9 TDs against 18 picks.
    • Gotsis could be, wouldnt dismiss him so quickly.
    • I think u have to remember that Richardson has played like what 19 games in college and the NFL. I think u have to take baby steps. We don't know what the plan is but I do trust SS in that respect.  I think where I challenge him is on being a head coach and not just a coordinator masking as a head coach. Make the tough decisions and don't always play with analytics.
    • The only "gut feeling" I have is probably indigestion, which I probably got after viewing Shane's recent post-game interview.   Go Colts Fans!
    • It feels like you're taking multiple and competing positions. One the one hand, #4 is a hard swing and desperate, on the other hand, they should have traded up to #1 and taken Stroud.    No matter what, taking a QB in the top ten is a serious risk, and you need to hit a home run (or at least a bases clearing double). I don't know why you're so obsessed with this idea that all teams are trying to do is clone Mahomes... every team wants a franchise QB, period.   Teams in the 20s don't generally spend a first rounder on a QB, and when they do, they get mocked. It's really the Packers in that category alone, and it seems to have worked for them. And what do you know, they drafted a guy who actually was compared to Mahomes -- high level traits, raw, not a lot of experience.    I don't understand your angle on this. The Colts appear to have seriously considered their options at QB in 2023, and they put together a plan that they thought would give them a good chance to have success with the guy they intended to pick. I don't know how you see that as anything but 'well-measured.' They could have stayed at #4 and taken the safer, more conventional guy in Will Levis. Or they really could have swung for the fences, traded up to #1, and then we'd have no question about who they really felt was the best prospect. Either way, unless you think they were just sitting there on draft day with their fingers crossed, hoping that Stroud would fall to #4, it seems pretty obvious that they thought their strategy out carefully, planned for it, and are trying to see it through.   And again, at this point, it doesn't make much sense to talk about the results of their plan, not when we have so little to talk about. Even if the plan doesn't work, I don't think it will be accurate to suggest it wasn't well-measured.
