He played when Pitchers actually were throwing 90MPH in the early 70's and he had success in 1970 and 1971 as being a legit All-Star when he was even old which tells me he could play in any era. Stats HR's = 660 Hits = 3293 Batting Avg. = .301/OB% = .384 Gold Gloves = 12 NL MVP's = 2 (1954, 1965) 20 time All-Star World Series Champion in 1954!

Yeah pretty much everyone in the division not named the Brewers are blowing it… Reds are now back at the bottom of the standings as the doormat… At least the pitching is excellent… too bad we can’t get a hit to save a life…
2006Coltsbestever
The NL Central is whacky. Cubs have now won 2 in a row. Between the Cards, Cubs, Reds, and Pirates there is no consistency. Cubs are now 36-39 just a game behind the Cards for 2nd place who sit at 36-37.
2006Coltsbestever
There is something dirty in the water on the North Side of Chicago. Cubs aren't right, I am starting to think that Counsell is in over his head with this city and team. Chicago isn't Milwaukee, there is a lot more pressure to win in a huge market like Chicago. Ever since the Cubs won the WS back in 2016, the fans expect to see at least good baseball every year, a team that can at least make the playoffs, not even winning Championships. Still over a half season to go but so far this is worrisome. 36-40 is not what I pictured through almost half the season.
2006Coltsbestever
Cubs up 5-0 already over the Mets. Only the 2nd Inning though, far from over but great start!
Myles
Cardinals win another over the Giants. Over .500 finally. They will have 3 against a tough Braves team next. I expect to lose 2/3 but will be hoping for better.I hope they complete the sweep tomorrow. Gonna be a long season. Halfway point is not until July 14th so many teams can make it a good one if they can win some games.

Cardinals have won 4 in a row over the Giants and Braves. i am now hoping to win the series against Atlanta tonight and go for a sweep tomorrow. Seems unlikely but you never know. Gotta face maybe the Braves best starter tonight. Lopez with a 1.57 ERA. It sure would be nice to win at least 1 against the Braves in the next 2 nights. After that series they have 4 against the Reds and 3 against the Pirates so we can expect them to beat each other up.
RollerColt
Hunter Greene ended getting up sick on the mound yesterday and the Reds quickly fell into a 6-0 hole that they couldn’t climb out of. More starters are now out. Christian Encarmacion Strand is done for the year. Nick Lodolo is now out for a blister of all things… TJ Freidl is out again because of a hamstring issue… Matt McClain is still a ways away from returning to the lineup… And Noelvi Marte is almost finished with his 80 game suspension and is currently struggling in the AAAs with a… .143avg and has gone 0-20 the past 4 days… Go Reds? Our two teams have been a major disappointment this season after such promising growth last year… As we approach the half my updated predictions for the division are: Brewers 98-64 Cards 85-77 Cubs 82-80 Pirates 80-82 Reds 70-92 Brewers will win the division and then choke in the playoffs again. Cardinals will make the wildcard. Cubs have enough talent to push over .500 in July and August. Pirates will hang around but eventually fizzle out against some random teams. Reds are destroyed by injuries and don’t have any talent in the wings. It’s pretty impossible to compete when more than half of the staters are out with injuries. Owners need to sell, GM and managers need sacking and someone who actually cares about the team needs to take over. Whoever’s in charge of the training staff needs replaced as well. This team should not have so many injuries year after year.

Many got on me for that but my gut told me that it may not be the right move. He is the problem because our roster is better than last year. 2006Coltsbestever
This is buy or sell weekend for me! Cubs have a 3-game set with the Brewers, if we don't take 2 of 3, I say sell. We have to prove we can play with these guys, and this is a pride thing IMO. I have had enough of this bull, and I would fire Counsell while I am at it. We are currently 10.5 games behind the Brewers and in last place in the NL Central = unacceptable. Only 4 games behind the Cards for the final WC Spot but if we look bad in this set, it's over. I remember when @HOZERand at @PuntersArePeopleTootoo gave me grief when I was hesitant about the Counsell hire, now you guys know why. Brewers had loaded teams that should have won at least 1 WS and they choked every year in the Playoffs. In my honest opinion if something doesn't change this weekend, I would rather have Ross back. This is far from an overreaction because half the season is over, and we are 38-44. With the roster we have, we should be at least 6 games above .500 (not below) with the proper management.
RollerColt
See @Myles? Yesterday the Reds score 11 runs, today they score zilch. Such is the common trend with this dumpster fire of a team… Tomorrow Cincy will score 0-1 runs and lose again. Then they’ll turn around and get swept by the Yankees. Does David Bell care? Naw. The ownership could care less because “where are we fans gonna go anyways”. Mad respect for St. Louis. A real franchise who gives a dang and tries every year to win the division.

My only saving grace is the Cubs have won a WS recently which was in 2016 but these last 4 years haven't been up to par. Brewers beat the Cubs last night and I had a feeling it would happen. The players don't want to play for Counsell, it's obvious.

RollerColt
I don’t get the Reds… They have now won 12 of 14 opening games for each series after beating the Yankees tonight. That should be a catalyst for having an over .500 record, but for some reason the rest of the games end up with us scoring 0 runs… Against the Cardinals The Reds outscored them 20-11, and were blanked twice in four games.
