NFL Pioneer & Hall of Famer Gil Brandt Passes Away

Gil Brandt - the Godfather of modern scouting helped build the Dallas Cowboy's in to "America's Team" - passed away Thursday at the age of 91.

 

Cowboy's owner Jerry Jones made a statement on the passing - "His dedication to and passion for this game left a lasting impact on generations of Hall of Fame players and coaches.  There are very few people who have been able to have the kind of generational impact that he did.

Oh no. I was such a fan of Gil Brandt. He was so knowledgeable and I learned so much from his many interviews with sports radio personalities. He was also such a kind person. He was one of my favorite people associated with football. I will miss him. Football has lost a legend.
