the patriots are so desperate without brady they are over paying players so bad now . they were so used to getting guys dirt cheap and now that brady is gone they turned into the jets becoming offseason champs .   patriots drafting is so overrated and players do not wanna play for bill anymore .   They will be in a state of being not good enough to win playoff games to not being bad enough to draft a franchise QB .   I hope we blow them out bad next year and eberflus and ballard get their revenge .

They're doing everything they always said they wouldn't do in the Belichick era and that is overpaying for guys. This is going to bite them in the you know what.

bill is fighting for his ego and job now that he has been exposed by brady winning a super bowl without him .  His ego got crushed when he missed the playoffs and watched brady win the super bowl .  He knows one more bad year and his seat is hot .

Pats have a ton of cap space with not too many players like Leonard , Smith or Nelson to worry about. They let Thuney walk , so they really do need to spend the money somewhere.

Yeah, but they are on a record setting pace for FA money spent in 48 hours.....and for what?  They are blowing all that money on "good not great" players.....

Don't get me wrong, Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith are really good.... But for the money they are filing out, you should be bringing in guys in their prime with names like Bruce Smith, and Derrick Henry.... Not ending up with whatever a Jonnu is and a Hunter.....

It is about their system that they run.

 

Got WRs with speed for 1-on-1s with Agholor and Bourne. Got TEs like the Gronk/Hernandez days with Henry and Smith. Run the ball and get results out of play action is what they want. At least Agholor, Henry and Smith have shown they can separate lately. With their heavy formations and a running QB, safeties will play close for the run and they could even land a QB on a rookie contract and if the opt outs from Covid come back, they wouldn't need to even score 25 points a game to win, IMO, with a very good defense, IMO. 

 

This was the year where they could push money to the future and they have doubled down on this year's free agency with a goal to do that.
