I think you might take a look at Bridgestone-Firestone and you will find I am correct.

There is no argument or debate in what I know they are worth.

Oh, I forgot to add Bridgestone America and that adds another 40 billion dollars to their worth.

I just looked it up and that 3.337 trillion is in Japanese yen not dollars lol. I’m right.

To me that is between the labor unions, players, and NFL to come to an agreement. Does it look good for the NFL to have it's former players not able to get basic health coverage when it wants mothers to send their young men to play their sport...long term investment. It would be wise to come to some type of agreement. As far as salaries and pensions goes that should also be determined by the Union. I'm telling you the Union looks out for the Union a lot of times. I was having a hard time finding how much the Union takes in a year..looked like 150,000,000 dollars there is no doubt they could be taking care of their own. Also thought it was interesting Drew Brees makes 2.5 million as the vice president. I think there is plenty of money going around for all if they wanted to make concessions to help their members. I just don't think it should be all on one side to do it all.

Did you bother to look up the convert rate of the yen vs the dollar?

It just happens to say that 1 yen is worth .0089 on the dollar. So devalue 11%  and it still comes out to 2.980 trillion us dollars.  So sorry, you are not correct.

You’re two decimals off lol math is hard. It’s actually 29 billion.

nonsense. If you believe that Bridgestone-Firestone is worth 29 billion dollars you are out of your mind. Just the Americas are worth 40-60 billion US dollars. These numbers were taken 2 years ago.

11% of 3.337 trillion dollars is .36707 trillion dollars. 3.337 - .36707= 2.96993 trillion. so your 29 billion is way off. Telling me math is hard ? Not really.

It obviously must be haha. Try multiplying .0089 by 3.337 trillion. That will give you 29.6 billion in  revenue. 1 yen = 0.11% of a dollar not 11% that’s why you’re 2 decimals off

You were talking about two different things.

I said the worth and you confused it with yearly revenue.  No matter what the numbers are they are one of the largest companies in the world and employee over 183, 000 people.  Just here in America the average salary is $69,000. per year. To say the yearly revenue is only 29 billion is a joke.

I was just using your 3.337 number lol. You were using the revenue number and saying that was the net worth. I wasn’t confused one bit.

I agree.  Many places of employment offer some sort of health insurance to their retirees. Why should the NFL be different, especially since the employees' (players') jobs involved sacrificing their bodies? Many of these guys would qualify for disability and after two years of disability benefits, they would be covered by Medicare (for anyone over 65 and those receiving disability for 24 months or more). So, the NFL can pay for supplemental insurance which is not too costly. It's not asking a lot.

A pension? I thought they received a pension if they played 4 years or more. Maybe I am wrong.

They do receive one for so many years I know a couple current players brothers. 5 years then 10 you get better. It is a proportional depending how long you played. I do not know what exactly it is or if it is low or not

Hopefully over the course of the next twenty years your coverage won't change. With the population and average ages of the population anything can and will change. My insurance goes up every couple years. Socialism is slowly on the rise in America and that will surely change things pertaining to medical coverages if it continues which I believe it will.

Socialism is awesome

Great point.

The NFL might not have a revenue problem...but it does have an image problem. Does that mean they need to be financing the whole thing...absolutely not...but they should definitely be working with the players union to hammer out an agreement so veteran players aren't going on Good Morning America and 20/20 talking about losing memory, not being able to see a doctor etc. What mother is going to continue to sign permission slips for that?? Only the few in the worst economic situations. That said the players and especially the players union need to take responsibility for their own as well. All the money they get from licensing....NFLPA gets a ton...they have more responsibility than just getting players fines reduced and negotiating a cut of the tv deal.
