IMO the absence of both starting tackles is forcing Reich to go with a quick passing game in the dink and dunk mold - it accomplishes several things - they are usually high percentage passes, which keeps the drives going and generally on pace, it alleviates the pass-protection issues because it doesn't require the OLine to hold in protection for too long, and it doesn't rely on the run game which is hurt by not having one of the best run blocking OTs in Castonzo. Good is pretty good at it too. It also gives Luck time to gradually get into the groove and pace of the NFL rather than asking him to throw bombs from the very start with a shaky line. I'm generally OK with this approach until we can get the injured guys back and get them integrated and adjusted to their new teammates. I think on the whole this is a very reasonable strategy but I don't expect it to keep going like that if the O-line is healthy and able to be better in pass-protection.

Really?

You expect this strategy to change?

No me.   It ain’t broke, I hope we don’t try to fix it.    More runs — yes.    A few more down field throws — sure.   But on balance,  I hope to see more of the same offense.

I don't mean it as being a negative now, but rather as a positive expectation that Reich will change his game plans depending on the personnel he has(+Luck feeling more and more comfortable with the speed of the game). IMO if Reich can trust his tackles more he will give Luck the opportunity to spread the ball a bit more downfield than he has been doing in pre-season and in game one. With better run-blocking personnel I also expect more run plays too. In other words - I don't expect Luck to throw 50 times a game very regularly and I would expect increased depth of target on the passes he attempts.

The offense probably would still have much more short-to-intermediate passes than he used to have before(and less deep throws) and I'm all for it, but yes, I expect Reich's playcalling to change a bit over the season and approach the feel of what Wentz was doing last year in Philly(with the allowence for certain adjustments based on difference in personnel between the Colts and the Eagles of course).

not a chance we will be top ten, we have not even been top 20 since peyton manning was here

losing gore set us back too, we will see what a good rushing team looks like again next week

There was no real reason to let Frank Gore go...

….but our line is hurting......and we are tough to stop in the air

…...does anybody see an opponent we dominate on the ground this year?

I dont mind seeing Andrew throw 50 times

We’ve had no running game to speak of in the Luck era. Hopefully that will change and Luck doesn’t have to throw 50 times a game. Unfortunately, I don’t think the Colts have a RB on the roster to change that yet!
