This Week In Bad Playcalling And Coaching ...

Hey Reggie Wayne is having a good first half, lets run the ball with our gimpy RB on all downs ???

Hey we're right at the goal line how about we try to "bang" it in on 1st with that gimpy RB again misfire on 2nd and commit a false start and kick a field goal.

3 EASY TD's for one TE

2 carries for your best RB at this point

I seen Peyton talking to Clyde about something, yet Clyde seemed uninterested ... maybe I'm reading to much into that but you can't help but to notice the lack of concern from the coaches.

As a player myself I can see the coaches bailing on the players, no creativity, no structure and when we've had the chance to stay competitive we get nothing not a wrinkle or a gutsy playcall, and to be 11 games without a win we sure do play awfully conservative. THIS is probally the most frustrating thing.

Will be interesting to hear Polian spin a couple of coaching decisions. When we drafted Carter, Polian himself talked about his ability to run between the tackles and get the 1-2 yards we had been unable to get. We even bring in a fullback this week. Yet when we were 1st and goal at the 1 yard line, Carter was nowhere to be seen. Isn't that exactly why Polian said we drafted him??

Then with a little over 2 minutes left in the first half, we decide to run the ball up the gut on a 3rd and 14, deep in Patriots territory. In essence, we waved the white flag and told the Patriots "we give". We were stuffed for a short game, punted, and they immediately took the ball and scored. That is called making a statement, which our coaching staff either knows absolutely nothing about, or is simply afraid to try. Neither is a good situation and should be addressed IMMEDIATELY.

Horrible, horrible coaching/play calling decisions. The players haven't given up...too bad it seems some on the coaching staff have.

I seen this and pointed it out in another thread. I was disgusted by that. Peyton couldn't have a bigger wth look on his face.

WE do seem afraid ..Tuba.,.,

We ran a reverse with Garcon two or three weeks ago and I havent seen it since..

Passes to Brown are effective but we dont call them,,,

...defrensively....we never rollup coverage and we rarely blitz even though we have some linebacker speed..

we play vanilla football in a wild cherry league...

Its like Caldwell has this idea that if we keep doing the same stuff, things will straighten out. Yeah, it worked before because Peyton Manning would lift the team up. Not happening without him. I personally can't stand the play calling or strategies. The Colts have to be one of the worst teams for halftime adjustments.

I was thinking the same thing. But that very play we converted a third down. So BFD from where I'm sitting.

Wait......so you are suggesting we use multiple running backs during a single drive? Preposterous!!!

That is just crazy talk to use one running back and then in short yardage switch to the bigger bruising RB with a fullback to pick up the short yardage.

I know Carter had some fumbling issues, but you got show some faith in the rookie. When a WR drops a pass Peyton just does not quit throwing to him. Peyton tends to go right back to them and the WR makes the catch.

I do not understand why we do not use Carter in the short yardage considering that is pretty much why we drafted the guy.

How about at least pretending you have faith in your secondary to play a little man and send a couple of extra guys after Brady, or passing on 3 and 14 when your running game is not doing well, or getting a play in on 3rd and goal rather than calling a momentum killing TO, and then going for it on 4th f you don't make it. You're 0-12, take chances, play desperate, you are.

Now just hold on. The Colts thru 12 games the have scored 13 points in the first quarter and 16 points in the third quarter. Now that's an adjustment. C'mon, man....

It is sickening to watch us play this conservative crap when we are 0-12...We really have the most gutless coaches I have ever seen...0-12 and we are playing conservative like we are trying to nurse a division lead...We could come out 100 percent aggressive and lose the last 4 or win a couple, or we can keep playing conservative and we will definitely lose the rest...Why are we doing the same things over and over if those things are why we are 0-12? Why can't we at least try something exotic since we have noting to lose anyways! The definition of insanity is our inept front office and coaching staff. Way to go Irsay, you let dictator Polian drive your team into the ground and become the laughing stock of football on all levels.

And to think, all those years, we were one Peyton Manning away from being worse than the Detroit Lions. I feel like an * for defending how good our team was/is without Peyton. All the coaching staff has done is cost us championships and wins. I can't wait until this Dungy crap conservative football curse is over. Thank you Dungy for handpicking Caldwell, the least competent coach in the NFL! Funny thing is the only time Dungy went away from his scheme, we won the Super Bowl. Dungy's only SB as a coach at that. The next year Dungy reverted back to his failed Tampa 2 scheme and conservative offense and we got plowed over in the trenches all year long. I will be the first to admit that Dungy was an utter failure here when he stuck to his system. Worst defense we have ever seen put on the field in Indy. Only when he changed his scheme in the SB run did we win...And that doesn't include us reverting back to the failed scheme in the AFCCG and getting blown out, only to be saved by a Peyton miracle.
