I don't remember anyone getting flamed for that opinion. I recall being concerned whisenhut would do a good job, thus having a very short stay.

i dont remember who but i remember plenty of his scheme sucks and it was because of larry catching fire and werner playing great and that he sucked etc.

perhaps flamed was exageration but i honestly liked the idea and people was mostly not to fond of the idea.

You wanted Arians to be HC after he was fired by the Steelers? I call nonsense on that one.

And I think you forgot how bad the offense was at times last year. Now imagine that offense without Reggie, DA and Vick Ballard.

I totally agree. I dont see why no one is giving Pep Hamilton anything but failing grades after the cards hes been dealt as far as personnel injuries are concerned. He didn't ask for DHB dropping key passes or Reggie Wayne being hurt. But, his style of play, when things get back to normal with the right personnel, will build Championships. No one was dogging him out when we played Steeler and Raven like smash-mouth Football on the 49ers.  Everyone wants the gaudy numbers but damn yall...all those years with Peyton Manning lighting up the scoreboard during the regular season to watch every smash-mouth team come in and knock us out of the Playoffs hasnt educated anyone YET? I understand Irsays mentality that ONLY one Lombardi trophy after all those so-called great OFFENSIVE numbers is a good lesson learned. Smash-mouth Football on BOTH sides of the ball will win Championships. MULTIPLE ones....not Madden 2014 offensive numbers....Pep's doing fine.

Are the old "Fire Arians" threads still available for perusal? A lot of people on here were calling for his head bc Luck was getting killed last year. Also, complaints about no check downs, no attempts to run the ball, plays taking too long to develop....geesh hindsight is 20/20 isn't it? You are are canonizing Arians right now when last year everyone complained how his offense wasn't working here. I distinctly remember the same "he won't adjust his game plan" complaint threads about Arians last year as we're seeing with Pep this year. And Pep has tried in the past few weeks! Arians just kept having Luck chuck it down field and get crushed. Pep may not be the answer. But Arians is gone and we can't change that. Pep is learning on the fly and has dealt with massive offensive injuries that Arians didn't have last season. But with this line and the injuries we have, Arians' offense would likely produce similar results

Very fair post. After this new style of play takes hold when all the starters that are injured get back and the Colts are as hard to beat every week as they looked up in San Fran, these same haters will be on the bandwagon when the Colts win big. And they wont even have the decency to say they were wrong about Hamilton. That 49er game is the blueprint for going deep in the Playoffs. Just look at the results of the two teams in the AFC that employ that style. Between the Steelers and the Ravens, since 2000, they BOTH have two Super Bowl victories. How many do the Colts have in that time trying to air it out to beat NFL Championship contenders. When the Colts DID win the Super Bowl in 2006, it was a strong defense late in the season and smash-mouth football, much of it on the ground with Dominic Rhodes and Joseph Addai that got us the Lombardi trophy. If people are HONEST with themselves, they'll see that a great rush defense, and the Colt smash-mouth GROUND game and probably Dominic Rhodes were the REAL story of the game and Dom earned the MVP award. I was shocked they "gave" it to Peyton. And that's an honest, non-biased assessment.

    • Sure. I support that, too. What I don't get is people saying others need to stop discussing this subject or that people are ruining this message board by stating opinions they don't agree with.
    • I know this doesn't compare to your children, but I have genuinely put in an effort as well not to yell or get violent since I've got my Labrador Retriever 2 1/2 years ago. She is my life, and I always want her to be comfortable around me. I've finally got on some good medication that has lowered my outbursts, and I'm probably living a better life than I have since 2011 which was the last year I had a huge social life and was traveling and playing pokemon with all my best friends.    I just enjoy sports a ton and is still a mini-escape from life. I want to feel like I can enjoy a journey that my team can win a championship. If we lose, that's one thing and I'm fine with it as long as there is maximum effort given. When we lose and it's due to circumstances out of our control (injuries) seemingly every year, that's when I become apathetic towards the team over time.   The Atlanta Braves had a horrible season with injuries this year, but because we won a WS three years ago and make the playoffs every year, it's more forgivable. When we just lose every year, or the times we win it's a QB like Rivers who has 1 year with us and he retires, I just give up. I have no control to fix the team myself, and I resort to playing Madden instead.   Also, I'm sorry that you lost your friend in NC due to the flooding. That has to be horrible to go through. I have a bunch of friends in the South who lost power for 3 1/2 days and a cousin in Florida whose house got destroyed and she has to move in with her sister now. That hurricane sucked for so many people.
    • I’d say Levis is worse than AR as of this season. He’s single handedly lost the Titans multiple games.
    • You’re right. You have every right to have your opinion.    Odds are stacked in favor of failure more than success in the NFL. Sustained winning is hard. Avoiding injuries is hard nowadays for QBs… More than likely due to the odds the Colts will be continuing to search for a QB in the future.    It is what it is.
    • I’m sorry you feel this way. I’ve struggled with it in the past. I’ve made a post a few weeks back but it bears repeating:   I used to get irrationally angry watching Colts games. It was bad. It was violent. Looking back, it was embarrassing.   What finally changed for me was seeing the look of fear in my little children’s eyes staring up at me with tears. It… washed away my cares for the Colts. That probably sounds bad, but I no longer care as much about what happens with the team. It was one my entire persona. It was as if my own personal happiness stemmed from the team’s success.    All I can tell you is that at some point you’ll learn to separate the Colts from your personal identify.    There are other things truly more worthy of your worries and stress than a football team. I promise you.    Be well and cherish life. I recently lost a great friend in NC due to the horrible flooding. Life is too short to waste it away fretting over the Colts.
