I'm feeling 7 to 9 wins (playoff hunt)

we could be 11 and 5 to I could see us beating new england as long as they dont lose before we play them we almost beat new england last year and that team sucked whether the texans rest their starters or not I can see us beating them at home, but they will embarrass us on the road our number of wins depends on consistentcy and we haven't had that so far this season ideally if we were going to make a play off run we need to beat the titans to stay ahead of them in wildcard hunt, beat dolphins to stay ahead of them beat jackson ville to continue hot streak upset new england and beat houston atleast once

Lol we almost beat New England last year? Did you even watch the game? We were dominated throughout the first 3 and 1/2 quarters. They gave up those two TDs to us in complete garbage time.

If you look at our schedule, 10-6 is not hard to imagine:

@Tennessee- Most winneable away game outside of Jacksonville. W

Miami- They haven't dont much this year to impress. W

@JAX- We owe them a whoopin and I think we will be hitting our stride at this point. W

@NE- Don't think we have much of a chance here unless we are really fired up and healthy. L

Buffalo- Again, not too impressed with them. Think we can take them at home. W

@Detoilet- Hostile environment, nasty players, I'm not liking this match up. L

Tennessee- At home, at the end of the year, with a playoff birth at stake I think we run the table on them. W

@Houston-........ L

@KC- One of the worst teams in the leage. W

Houston- I think Houston will be resting their starters here. I think we win this one and make the playoffs. W

Its possible... likely? maybe not so much. But possible if we can stay healthy!

Taking your list and looking at the current performance of the opponents we have, I think if will look more like this.

@Tenn - L - they have been playing much better and are on a two game win streak. We have not played well on the road yet.

Miami - W - maybe. They have the same record we have and are on a 2 game win streak, but we are at home.

@Jax - W - this is the most winnable road game we have because MJD probably will still be out.

@NE - L - we are not ready for them defensively.

Buffalo - W - they have the same number of wins that we do, but we are at home.

@Detroit - L - they have a deeper roster than we do and we are on the road.

Tenn - W - only listing this as a win because we are at home.

@Houston - L - strongest team in the AFC and we are at their house

@KC - W - bad enough team that we get our second road win.

Houston - L - they want to prove they can beat us at home.

I think this is the absolutely best case for us if we get and stay healthy. It puts us 8-8, but is dependent on us winning 2 road games and beating a couple of teams that are comparable to us talent and performance wise at home.

Of the 8 teams in the AFC who have played only 6 games so far, only Jax and KC on our schedule have scored fewer points than we have and only KC has given up significantly more points than us. While we all want to look at things through blue tinged glasses, for us to make the playoffs, several teams with more talent than we have will have to collapse and we will have to beat everyone comparable to us and register several more upsets.

Even so, I had been predicting a 3-13 year and now believe that 6-10 is well within reach. 8-8 is the best we can do.

That's still 7-9? I know what my Slogan was & I'm still sticking to it. I didn't mention the 9-7 because Ohio Colt just said 7-9 in the Topic Header

Actually, the topic header doesn't say 7-9 as a record. It says 7-to-9 wins.

In short, it says what you were saying all those months. Could be 7 wins. But, could be 9 wins. He also allows for 8 wins, which you didn't. It does not predict a 7-9 season.

You're not pulling a fast one on me, my Texas friend!

    • I agree.  I don't think they'll do it.  It leaves them greater options.  They can still sign him to an extension before the season is out.  They can let him test free agency.  Or they can walk away from him, depending on how things work with Latu.  Or keep him if Tyquan or Dayo get injured (again).  It's just more options.  I don't think they'll do it today.
    • The only problem with that approach is going into FA his price will be higher.   Extend him now for cheaper
    • Im not certain if there will even be any room for Pierce bc the 4th and 5th receivers need to have special teams ability. I think AD will show enough to gain the Colts confidence. You know Dulin will be there. So from there you're competing with Gould and whoever else. You know Gould plays special teams.  Going to be interesting what they have in mind.
    • Latu's addition also tells me that Gus is not doggedly adhering to his historical "Cover-3 Leo" defense.  Latu is not a Leo.  He's not the undersized wide-9 OLB type playing in a 4-3.  He's a bona fide 4-3 DE.  I'm expecting Gus to even further move away from his historical base defense.  (I never believed that he was going to cling to it come h3ll or high water.  That his coverages last year were simplified perforce, due to the inexperience of the guys he had on the field.)  I'm excited to see what we look like defensively with the new guys inserted.
    • It's about who else is Free Agents vs cap space, propensity to pay our own, can we find better 2-way(run-pass) production for less, is it worth a gamble? Fact that we have the top defensive player on our board from the draft under cheap contract, makes it easier to offset funds. Like I said we can almost have 4 DEs with the funds paid to Bosa by himself. The fact that all I hear from the Colts is glowing reviews about him.   In my opinion the Colts brought Latu in to start opposite of Paye, in the long term. Ebukam will be 31 when he's due for a new contract in 2026.     Just because we exercise the option, doesn't mean we can't work on an extension if his trajectory shows continued growth.     Good thing is we will know in a few hours.
