  1. This would mean you believe Paye = Dayo. And we definitely need to add a young high quality prospect for development. They typically take 2 plus years to become good even if drafted in the first half of rd 1.
  2. Thanks for the effort. It's a helpful reality check that helps one gain another level of perspective.
  3. I have great respect for Grover, he is really solid at taking on double teams, and still making a very good number of tackles. We could use more push. Dayo and Lewis took a number of of snaps at DT and did OK. Bryan was pretty bad most of the season and Johnson should have been released by mid-season. We need some young legs with good starter qualities added to the roster this draft at DT.
  4. Does being All-Pro qualify as Super Star? McDuffie was last season.
  5. Tidbit Aidan Hutchinson finished No hits No sacks No tackles
  6. Manning is the King.......of one and dones. 7 I discount the MVP's because he was pass happy, under utilizing the run game, solely to prove HIS greatness, in pursuit of MVP's. Most Valuable for a season, doesn't indicate the best player.
  7. Lamar over threw numerous balls against KC, including what 4,5,6 deep balls. It was a shame his defense had so many 15 yarders. And Flowers sure got a mouth full of humble pie
  8. 2024 should be about fixing our offense. Rd 1 Taliese Fuaga let him play G year 1. Be the backup RT. Rd 2 T'Vondre Sweat DT Rd 3 Roman Wilson WR Rd 4 MaxMelton CB Rd 5 Cole Bishop S We would do well if CB signed a quality FA from the outside. Ballard/Gus is a losing combination.
  9. You should direct your comment to the utter mediocrity of our LB's in zone coverage, and how much better they were at it than our secondary. And how can one overlook the lazy, simple defense led under the guise of our HC and his ancient, seemingly bewildered LB, and Secondary coaches. Something is wrong with our defensive side drafting and "development", so look no further than Ballard, Dodds.
  10. Young has yet to produce on the field better than Paye or Ebukhan. No matter how he looks in his uniform. IMO Talent in the NFL is only based on production.
  11. Lots of words. Yet you are ignorant of the fact he wouldn't have the same responsibilities. Keep your ear to the ground.
  12. My poor old eyes saw 4 rushers maintaining their rush lanes keeping QB's contained and getting more than their share of sacks. Logically, if we mixed coverages like the better defenses do, and blitzed more, we should have considerably more pressures. But no, we will drop an extra step keeping the ball in front of us, giving up good yardage on runs and screens outside. Playing va-niiiiil-aaa D.
  13. We were told that there was a scout that reported Richardson exceptional, so to be looked at. And Taylor couldn't have been more well known, and Irsay was credited for telling his GM to move up and get him.
  14. Tyran is what 5'11" 190 DeJean. 6' + 209 We will see what his 40 is and cone drills And yes, Ballard/Dodds have been failures providing us with SB caliber DB's. DeJean Could be a quality CB in Ballard's simplistic D, but maybe a great Safety. History says we will get it wrong.
  15. Nabers is phenomenal. Paying the price to go to the Bears 9th for him would be wise.
  16. Judging Love from his first three years as "a HUGE disappointment" is worthy of talking head, pundit, arm chair GM level commentary. Blather. He came into the league with solid college credentials. Sitting behind an all time great with a really good offensive mind as a HC should have been a great opportunity. Love looks to be playing near the higher level of draft day expectations by year 4's end. A fun question, skill wise, dollars being equal, who would you pick as your QB for the next 3 years? Justin Herbert, Tua, D Watson, K Murray, Jordan Love? With the first pick...
  17. Thanks for responding to that disingenuous reporting. Love couldn't have been seriously graded as a huge disappointment for just the common sense reasons you shared.
  18. Gus is incapable, and the players Ballard and Dodds supply for the back seven are as a unit, 2nd class or lower. Year after year.
  19. Stroud's excellence wasn’t diminished in the least, and Lamar isn't a run first QB. Stroud's o-line got destroyed and he could use another quality receiver. AND, if one can comprehend what went on, we witnessed in that game and the San Fran game what it takes to mix zone, with constant disguise and aggression to be a Championship caliber defense. Pretty much the Opposite of the lazy "coaching" scheme with so much questionable talent that Ballard and Dodds outdated vision brings to the table. Mahomes has repeatedly killed his opponents from day 1 with his legs. Our poor Andrew would have been a below .500 loser without his running. Lamar is exceptional because he demands an extra defender to contain his escaping the pocket. When the defense leaves an open lane... it is punished The Ravens would have beaten us 47-0.
  20. Thank LG for this knowledgeable, common since response. Of the long list of top receivers, Pittman is more like Keenan Allen. But certainly more physical. We need a Reggie sized, very quick and fast guy that can get open quick to complement our passing attack. Given that, Pitts receptions will go down but his ypc and TD's will go up. This season he neared his potential. He is a very good player.
  21. Actually it had everything to do with the subject. Sadly, like Leonard, you've lost a step. You can't keep up as you once could. It's been noticeable this whole season, there has been a change. The board is weaker because of it. I would wish that you and yours are well. Sorry but Brents stats are not so good. And that against mediocre competition. He will make some plays, but with his lack of quickness and speed the really good QB's will play some easy for a first down, fun pitch and catch on him, and he will require that safety to cover his behind. In Ballard's system he could be a little above average soon, but our opponents should be able to successfully attack his weaknesses.
  22. Well now, Rock was the first and obviously biggest CB Fail that Ballard must claim. One should remember how the Elite wrestler got smoked off the line as a rookie. All those grabs for penalties. Most understand that when you don't have the makeup speed when faster, quicker guys get away from you bad things happen. Sorry Rock, at his best, got better not letting guys beat him deep, but the slower/bigger CB's that Ballard lives by have to give something up. Rock was never more than average and I know I was glad to move on. 34th pick or not. If you want a good defense we had to have better. And we watch it play after play, game after game, year after year. We have to play just a little deeper, a little further off, letting any old tom, dick, and Harry play pitch and catch on us. Surprise Surprise Surprise. Enough bad zone play, enough I thought you were taking him, to make one tire of a DC. A DC forced to play VANNILA. Did we play 100% zone? Chuckle How well were we able to defend crossers in zone or man to man? How good were we defending screens? Did anyone miss former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Gilmore? Guess what, receivers couldn't get away from him. He took their best receiver one on one. How could he do that running a 4.53 40? You can't. He ran 4.4. ANYONE with a lick of football sense knows when a corner doesn't need safety help it gives you a player that can be used to mix coverages, Surprise the o-line, Surprise the QB by being where you weren't supposed to be. Ballard, your version of Richard Sherman, Cam Chancellor and Earl Thomas is Pathetic. A Joke! .
  23. Rock started 1 game this season out of the 14 games they let him play. He had about 270 defensive snaps . Gave up 17.7 ypc 10%+ missed tackles Passer rating 109. Who will be the next sucker to sign Elite Rock?
