  1. TY was over targeted by Luck period. Luck waited and waited for TY to get open for longer passes, many of which was throwing into double coverage resulting in too many Int.'s Luck is sitting home now with Irsays $$$ largely because of getting blown up "Nice Hit" waiting for the TY Long Ball. TY did not run that good of intermediary routes as he had trouble with skating while attempting quick cuts. I have no problem remembering them trying to use him on sweeps in years one and two and watching him slip/fall on his * when he had to make a cut. TY was/is a weapon but it was very unfortunate Luck didn't have very good accuracy inside 12 yards or so. He was late, high, and threw to the wrong shoulder over, and over, and over..... year after year after year... One year of Frank and he QUIT!!!
  2. We have good talent and prospect depth now at all positions but outside CB for 22. I say that because right now it is the position that has me rather concerned for 21. You can't project that we Won't resign any of our best players.
  3. Perhaps he also likes no state taxes. He can spend that $$$ buying plane tickets for his teammates to fly down for some work and and all that fun mentioned. Personally, i liked what Goddert was saying about Ertz.
  4. It doesn't get more simple. Ballard has said, like many many other good GM's before, if i think i can help the team be a SB contender by signing/spending, even for a knucklehead if he thinks the lockerroom is strong enough to handle it, he Would Do It. And Irsay has explained he doesn't want to live in the 8-8 zone. I LOVE the business plan they have. And some Huge $$$ will be spent the next 2 years signing players we know, we have developed. There is no better way to build a roster. You are upset they didn't blow $20M trying to win a playoff game, kinda like Mannings embarrasing 7 one and dones. 2 years of Brissett were lost causes for those that care. And last years 11-5 with a week schedule was still a surprise to Most. With us just on the cusp of being really good, with many really good young 1st contract players, and being right where we need to be for a 3-4 year run at the top, with a wad of cap space and Your ca$h in the Bank ready to spend... You see failure. That is very sad!
  5. Spending wild on FA's to take a likely 8-8 roster to maybe a couple more wins is a Losing proposition. Irsay has been kind enough to tell Colts fans that 8-8 or such mediocrity does not work for him. He wants to compete for a SB. And he and Ballard agree, Ballard has made it Perfectly for those who closely follow our Colts, that there is a time to spend to fill out the roster when we are getting Close. He made a Bold strike to get a Superior talent with Buckner, and no doubt made Frank Giddy by acquiring Wentz at this time. Irsay has tens of Million$ to finance Contracts that appeal to Agents/Players that many would have Blown on likely mediocrity. We are a lower revenue franchise and his wealth is centered on this ownership. Those $$$ matter. It's a little picture/Big picture matter.
  6. You are in a Dreamland regarding getting back any $$$ from Luck.
  7. He Knows that by drafting well, and developing our players well, of which we are doing, he is soon going to be losing Our Good players because of lack of $$$. So being penny wise and frugal with bringing other teams players here is very Smart. Unless of course it is Two of the Biggest deals in the NFL over the last 2 seasons that CB did do. Brilliant minds think alike!
  8. There is no more risk with Wentz than there was with old man Rivers. He can play, there is nothing magical about it. Gotta laugh how the Ertzites fawn over him, as there IS a fair amount of risk with him at any price. And he won't be the ONLY TE that May come available that could do some good in our O. It is all about having the tools to attack opposing D's. And we have Many already. Ertz would be a blip in an O that spreads the ball around. We ARE YOUNG and strong and CB IS Building a very solid deep roster. Some realize what that means and some are Panicking. Colts fans might as well Chill as it isn't All About this season. Not when we have so many 2nd & 3rd year players needing NFL experience and having played so few games played together.
  9. I do believe you are misinformed regarding "dormant virus". The Phizer and Moderna are Not that as i read. I know those 2 have been the primary ones used in my area. The Johnson & Johnson is that.
  10. In the early 2000's i twice got got hit really hard with the flu. One year apart. I have a slightly diminished lung function still. Yes i get the flu shot every year. If you get hit hard in the lungs the damage from covid is likely life changing. But congrats, it didn't KILL YOU! Your a 99.6% survivor though. I remember when a certain J______ said the predictions for losing 2.2M seems way off. It may turn out to be ONLY 60,000. We are much more likely on the way to a Million. One in every 330. Thining the herd!
  11. Me thinks you exaggerate. I don't believe you can find the word Average Anywhere. Great... Nope! Accurate and error free, don't take sacks. Yes he will have to do those things very well consistently in the Playoffs. It sure looks Great when you win the last game.
  12. That is so true. And they better discuss it with the accountant and cap guy to make sure it fits the budget. Exciting times!
  13. If he had, and basic capacity to get it, he wouldn't share his drivel. You are not writing this for him, a waste of time, but perhaps to educate some novice newer fan. Good post!
  14. Hindsight tells me that it was a great thing for Reich to have last year with Rivers. Those two working together for a season would have been great to sharpen his co-ordinating skills. Great for Eason, and all the offensive players to be led by Rivers. A season long great How To get it done lesson. Don't misunderestimate that doubters. Nice article. Knowledgable fans are nodding there heads and saying ohh yaa! I don't want no Andrew Luck. Playing .500 ball outside the division and winning so many games with runs doesn't get it.
  15. And remember how Rob Morris was a clear disaster in the middle but with his years of experience and toughness they surprisingly found a role as a strong side linebacker. At that, pretyy much all he was good at was holding up tackles and tight ends, pretty much stringing out any plays to his side. That meant so much with people endlessly trampling over Mathis in the run game. Morris was a Big Deal for the D once they experimented with him playing that position and he was so stout. That is an example of developing players, in the hopes they can be the next man up to fill important roles.
  16. But, but, i'm old (I Am) so older fans are n a hurry up and win now mode. Ballard is doing his best to develop a great core than can be near the top for years. Like the Pats, Steelers franchises have been, and KC now. If it was easy, Everybody would be doing it. I think seeing the basis, the progress, IS Easy to see. Starting to knock on the door this year Would be nice!!
  17. Thanks for asking. I took a minute to check Scrub Fleenor out. It shows he only played 6 years, the last in 2017. He played in 11 games his 1st and last season. The middle 4 seasons he Only played... In 16 games all four seasons And had over 50 catches all four and averaged over 600 yards.
  18. That is an enjoyable observation. Dickerson kept his head up and with those long legs his stride looked like he was smoothly gliding along. So big and Sooo fast. A great pickup!
  19. It wasn't Pittmans fault that Rivers could Never create any extra time to exploit the deep ball. Nor could Rivers easily throw the ball 60 yards. Pittman has plenty of speed to get behind a defense. Expect him to catch a number of Bombs.
  20. The guy never had the speed but was consistently one of the best. He is super smart like other Hall of Fame caliber players and he is long. Those 2 things don't go away. That he would be as good as or better than Rock... i could see that. If Rock got injured i could definitely see CB being very interested.
  21. TY typically got about or over 1/2 of his yards in 4 games. All because Andrew loved the long ball and was more than Jovial taking huge hits waiting for him to get deep. In the Luck years he was Always over targeted at the expense of other open receivers. And Luck had a lot of Int.'s forcing the ball his way. Luck is sitting at home with Irsay's $$$$ today because of what was his Stupid approach to playing winning FB. Asked to throw quickly underneath (see Rivers) and he soon QUIT!!
  22. We had no experience with our safeties so their read and reaction must be expected to be sub par. One corner that was subpar Walker was an easy 7 yards most anytime they wanted it. Leonard was focused being a run stopper so he was easy in the flats. And our DE's were solid but didn't require ANY help to stop them. Quite mediocre pressuring the QB as a unit. This is Another development season for our young players on D. SORRY! People can Whine about it all they want, it is just the cycle we are in. With so many young players on Offense too, the goal must be to have them all grow together and if THEY are good enough...
  23. Well, we are talking about the here and now. If we had signed Julio... the chatter would have been ridiculous.
  24. Tell us how much we would save if Doyle retires? It would have to be a rookie mid-lower rd contract 1st to make much difference. With that we would have about $3.7 more. I mean that is fine. He is very effective but replaceable. What if we gave him another year and converted his 22 salary to a signing bonus and spread it over two years? He would cost about 2.7m next year. You probably know if he retires he still counts 750,000 against our cap.
