Rest of the season is just a bonus for me. Of course I want the playoffs but I’m ok if we don’t. What our head coach has done with this team is unbelievable. Starting QB is out, DC is washed up, injuries to every position group but we have won 7 games. I personally don’t think we will go 3-1 to end the season and just miss out. Still, this is a good year and only regret was we couldn’t see Richardson more to make sure he is the guy to build around.

If anything I think they will work out an extension with Kelly bc he is set to count 14m against the cap next year.

Jason Witten Currently Jalen Hurts. Only bc I despised how the reporter who asked him seconds after the game how it felt to be benched in the national championship and his Tua went out and got the win. He answered with class but you could tell he couldn’t believe they chose that moment. He stayed at Alabama and didn’t transfer until he graduated and came in and won the SEC championship game for them. I think he is a total class act and glad he has the success he has.

I understand we still have a chance if we lose to the Steelers but would require a 3 game win streak. I’ve said for two weeks if we wanted to make the playoffs we had to win at TN and Cincy. Now this week is basically a must win game and we struggle historically vs Pitt. Every single game for the rest of the season is basically a playoff game. I hope the Colts can keep it interesting. Either way they have exceeded expectations. We have a great head coach but I’m not ready to start looking towards next year. We have to win this week.

Colts came back down to earth today. Streak was going to end sometime but it was a lot of fun. We lost to a very talented offense even when Burrow is out. Colts are already exceeding expectations. Beyond us losing out this has been a good season. After our 3-5 start, we were put in a position to finish 7-2 to have a chance at the playoffs. That’s a lot to ask. It will be close but still have a shot.

The Colts are definitely an over achieving streaky team that is playing an easy schedule and finding out they have a good coach and solid OL/DL. The games are fun to watch and different players and position groups are stepping up during this win streak. I do worry about how they can sustain this momentum down the stretch. These last five games will truly show how good our coaching staff is. We will probably only face one QB who is clearly better than Minshew. It will become a chess game and exploiting matchups and putting our players in positions to succeed.

Maybe…either way I appreciate what he is doing for the Colts

My comment wasn’t bc there is another player I would rather have. However, looking at available players next year: Jacoby Brisett, Drew Lock, Tyrod Taylor and Sam Darnold could all be viable options if Minshew wants more than the Colts are willing to pay.

While I hope this is where they can get him I feel like he will want top back up money. That would be 7-8m a year. To me that seems too expensive so I like your numbers way better. I’m glad he is here but I wouldn’t say he is playing great even for a backup. During this 4 game win streak he has more turnovers than TDs. Colts are almost winning despite Minshew. Of course there is way more to it than that stat.

At a minimum they have to go 3-2 to make the playoffs. It’s doable but all these games will be tough to win. Either way I’m happy bc the Colts are playing meaningful football in December. They have already exceeded expectations. About the only thing that would really bring the season down is going on a bad slide and finishing with a losing record. I don’t see that happening. Just going to enjoy these last 5 games and see what happens.

I agree. There will be a lot of opportunities for him to sign elsewhere as a starter. I think a team may sign him to around 10-12m a year. If not and we want to keep him I bet we will have to at least double his salary to 7-8m. Several teams will be interested in Minshew.

Steelers, like the Colts, have a good back up QB. Trubisky can win games for them. This helps us somewhat but we will still need to play a complete game to win.

Derek Barnett was a stud for the UT Vols. I knew he didn’t have a high ceiling but had a great motor. Unfortunately he has always underperformed in the pros for a first round pick. I believe he tore his acl last year. Probably the beginning of the end for him.

I had us at 5-6 wins. Expectations are exceeded. Colts are playing meaningful football in December. Never thought this was going to happen. Shane Steichen gets an A from me.

I think they should leave FSU out. That OSU team was loaded that year and were clearly better than everyone even with their 3rd string QB. I hope it’s Michigan, Washington, Texas and Alabama. Those are the four best teams in my eyes but understand the argument for FSU. It would not surprise me a bit if tv ratings come into play with this decision. College football has become a business and people watch UT and Bama. Fitting there is this much controversy right before they go to a larger playoff. There are 8 teams that all have a case to be in the playoffs and can win a game. Georgia, Oregon and Ohio State could all easily win 2 games and make the championship. FSU has a great defense and I’m guessing the extra time preparing for the bowl games would help their offense a lot. On a different note, there is a lot of hate for the SEC bc they win so much. It’s not universal but there is a strong push from some to leave them out this year. I will say this, I don’t think there is a team in this country that can beat Bama and Georgia in back to back games. I think the gap is closing but not quite there yet.

No idea how serious his is. I pulled my quad during football when I was 26. I could walk and jog fine but could not run full speed for around 6wks. One day it was like a switch was flipped and the pain and tightness basically went away. Had the same with a pec injury but not as long. Muscle injuries are weird.

Dayo has been on a hot streak the last three games. I’ve repeatedly said he is underperforming to his draft slot and claim of 1st round talent by Ballard. Always thought he was a high end backup/rotational player. I hope he keeps it up and proves me wrong. We will need both Dayo and Samson to play strong and Kwitty to stay on the field these last 6 games. Hopefully Grover isn’t rusty when he returns and Buckner stays healthy. Our playoff chances rely on this DL to keep us in games. Will be very fun to watch this December!!

He will definitely play for another team. Hope he can extend his career and is happy.

Win and we are in!! We control our own destiny. Time for Colts to do their jobs and keep winning.

1st game down in quest for the playoffs. Great win and was an entertaining game. Really need to win the next two at Titans and Bengals if we want a legitimate shot. Last four teams will be in the hunt.

Not there yet on Richardson but I think he has the weapons to be successful. Interested to see how Steichen and AR do next year. Sky is the limit but the realist in me always makes me keep expectations in check

It’s looking like Downs is that guy. He just needs to keep developing. I think he could be very close to TY. MPJ reminds me a lot of Wayne. I think they are a great combo.

Pittman, Downs and JT are good enough to build around Anthony Richardson next year.

Not sure if this is true or not but I thought I had seen something that Ballard was interested in Purdy. Not sure if I saw that here or in an article. I think it takes the perfect circumstances for a late round QB to pan out. Right team, right system, the opportunity and of course the talent. What we are seeing in San Fran is truly amazing and I enjoy it. Just like with Brady, it took an injury to get the young guy in the game. If I recall correctly didn’t Trey Lance and Garapollo go down for Purdy to get his chance? Makes you wonder how many guys had what it took but never got their chance bc they were behind established starters and backups.
