  1. I’m still giving the edge to Peyton on total career for now. Career stats mean something and Peyton had probably the 2nd best career of all time for a QB. I fully expect Mahomes to pass him eventually bc he is a brilliant player and an absolute gift to watch play. So was Peyton though and he revolutionized the position. Mahomes is likely going to be a top 5 all time and probably top 2 or 3 but he isn’t there yet. No matter what I’ve enjoyed watching both and even got to catch the tail end of Montana in SF and then the Chiefs. Consider us all very lucky to see this much greatness.
  2. Congrats to Stroud and Anderson on great rookie years! Looks like the Texans have players on both sides of the ball to build around. I still think they have more to do so will be interesting to see if they can find the final pieces of the puzzle to contend for championships. The AFCS is on the verge of becoming an extremely tough division. Colts, Jags and Texans are all 2-3 players away from being serious threats to make the conference championship game.
  3. There are valid arguments for multiple HCs this year. Several teams surprised the league and their fans should be proud. Shame there can only be one winner. Im ok with the choice but would have respected any which way the voters went.
  4. Always a fan of weapons for a young QB but don’t think Diggs is the player. I would trade a first for a bonafide #1 for the next 5 years but he has maybe 1-3yrs of elite potential at best. Diggs to the Ravens, Packers, 49ers, Chiefs or Chargers makes more sense for both sides.
  5. I agree. I would either like to have a Colts subscription or maybe we could watch any game we want for $5-10 each. I’m guessing people probably spend less by doing it per game or it probably would be offered.
  6. He has owned up to it, lost his job and I think it said 2.7million in salary. I think he learned his lesson and if he is reinstated I wish him the best with the Eagles.
  7. Bears need to draft Caleb Williams but in case he doesn’t want to play for Chicago and they like the other top QBs, maybe they trade with the Commanders or Patriots and collect another 1st and 2nd plus still get a QB.
  8. Would like to see 45-50 receptions with 700-800yds and 3-5 TDs. That would be a great year for Pierce. I think Downs will eat into some of his targets and maybe even the TE position if someone separates themselves from the rest of the group. If AP doesn’t get somewhere around those numbers, I’m guessing the team will look for a replacement.
  9. More than fair odds and probably a little generous to be honest. Majority of people said this would be an evaluation year. Honestly not much has changed besides we know our coach is good. Hopefully players stay healthy and the colts are competitive
  10. I’m noticing several people bring up its a different era and the rules are different. People said the same thing when Brady, Peyton and Brees were amassing their stats. It was brought up several times how receivers weren’t allowed to be touched and could just run free. Also, I remember Peyton constantly whining to officials and they listened too. Star power means something in every league. These roughing the passer rules started getting stricter during the last era and it’s best for the game. Starting QBs go down and most teams are done and people stop watching. There is an exception here or there like the Colts this year, but for the most part teams are toast and ratings drop when the QB goes down. Cant really discount a player much bc they can only play when they play.
  11. Mahomes also needs to rack up career stats and that will take time. There is an argument that Mahomes has been the better postseason QB than Manning. Mahomes is definitely on pace to be a top 3 QB all time but honestly, he isnt even top 10 yet if his career ended after this season. All time stats mean something but I have no doubt he will break some career records by the time he hangs it up.
  12. I would say no. If Mahomes’ career ends after a SB victory and then compared to Peyton’s career 5-10yrs down the road it’s not enough. Definitely on a historical start to his career and has been a joy to witness. Things change fast in the NFL so going to wait and see what happens the next 5-8 years. Could be his last appearance or he may have more.
  13. Seen talks in two threads about drafting a QB in the first round and now also moving AR to TE. WTH is going on lol?!? Listen, I was against the AR pick before and I don’t think he will work out for us now either. Still, we better put a team around this guy and give him the best chance to succeed. He is the chosen guy to be the franchise so you have to back it up. Saying that, if there isn’t an obvious weapon in the first then we have to go defense bc that side of the ball is truly lacking elite players. A good D will help AR as well
  14. Lions. Would love to see the Lions go as far as they can. All of us at work would say “at least we aren’t Lions fans” the past few years as the Colts struggled. We all kind of started following the Lions as a joke and now cheering for them. It’s a good story this year and hope they can handle the pressure the next few years when they are expected to compete for championships. 49ers. I think they might be the eventual SB champs. Great roster and organization from top to bottom. They will have their hands full the rest of the way so can see them getting upset. Still, I think they are the most talented and best coached team remaining. Texans. I applaud their success after trading away their franchise QB in their prime. Stroud had a great rookie year and they over achieved by a lot. The roster isn’t even near complete so they do have a ways to go. Saying that, Ravens will probably handle them bc they are the much better team. Finally, the Bills. This is the year to get the monkey off their back and beat the Chiefs. They got hot just in time to save their season and I hope they can keep it going. First road game in the playoffs for Mahomes but I promise that team will come prepared. Should be the game to watch this weekend.
  15. I would have preferred he wasn’t fired before Frank bc I believe we put the groundskeepers nephews best friends neighbor in charge of the offense when Saturday took over. Maybe that was part of the tank job to draft a new QB. This interview was most likely a courtesy to a former colleague of Eberflus and even maybe to help fulfill the Rooney Rule. I know they interviewed another minority candidate off the Panthers staff. Anyways, everyone’s seat at the Bears is on fire so they want to get this coordinator hire right. They will go with someone established.
  16. Definitely could be wrong but I remember watching videos of Shaq and he was not fit for TV. Not very well spoken and everything is profanity laced. Maybe he has changed through the years bc many people do as they get older.
  17. Five years ago I probably would have. Point is, addiction is a roller coaster for both the addict and those around them. You may catch either on a high or low. I get people’s negativity bc it’s a tough thing to deal with. I understand people’s positivity. Hope is a powerful thing. Just try to be patient with those being negative. I know what they are saying seems harsh but a lot of it is fair criticism. Not necessarily needed or helpful but it’s still a justifiable position. We all deal with things differently.
  18. Yes it does seem like there is one in every family. Congrats on being an uncle of 9! My brother had two kids and both women moved out of state with the kids and severed all contact with him bc of how he was. They didn’t want support from him bc that would mean he is entitled to visitation. They just wanted as far away as possible from him
  19. I know this will be very hard to understand but please try to. I would say it has made most of us less compassionate for people struggling with addiction. We all started off positive and willing to help and the carnage just kept coming. Maybe it seems wrong but I try to stay as far away from people with substance abuse problems as I can. It’s cost me a couple good friends through the years. I did not want to get wrapped up into their mess bc it’s only a matter of time before it’s on my family’s doorstep. My brother once conned $1000 out of a woman under the promise it was for something important. He went on a binge with the cash and landed at my parents house a week or so later. Her brother and cousin showed up to collect and I just so happened to be there that weekend to help my dad with a project. Those men were trying to force themselves into the house to get him and in the process of me stopping them I got punched in the mouth. That night my tires were slashed and windshield had a cinder block thrown through it. Another time my brother stole every single Christmas present from under my family’s tree and sold/returned it all for money to buy booze. Finally found him unconscious in a hotel and he was in the hospital for a week. These are just a couple examples…I have dozens more. I can also tell just about as many terrible stories about my brother in law and what he has put my sisters family through. That guy is living in a halfway house right now and my parents had to host him for his 1hr visit with the kids Christmas Day so they didn’t see him in his jail jumpsuit. I know our experience seems extreme but talking to other families dealing with an addict member, they have their own set of stories that are very comparable. The common theme I recognized is that we all do care and want whoever is struggling to get better but are all just tired of everything that comes with it. To this day I don’t know how my parents dealt with it. They almost divorced over it and it took them a long time themselves to get their own household back to normal. The carnage is real my friend. It’s more intense than most people can imagine. So I get the positivity…that’s where I started. I get the negativity bc that’s where I was for awhile too. I honestly still have some resentment towards my brother even though he has been sober two years. I also get now it is what it is and there is no stopping it bc only they can. I have no opinion on any of it. It’s just a terrible situation and everyone is justified to feel and say things for their own reasons.
  20. No problem. It’s great to have him here still. However, I want to use that situation to kind of show why some people are being negative here. I love my my brother. He was my best friend. Key word was. Things are different now. I would say most us got to the point we were just over his addiction. The lying, stealing, needing money, constant need to be saved bc he was in some sort of trouble etc…it weighed on us all. Half of our family was checked out with him. We had our families and homes to worry about we reached a point where there was no more left to give. Even now that he is sober it’s not close to the same relationship for most of us. We love him and accept him bc he is family but he caused a lot of hurt and grief for so many for so darn long. The devastation these addicts leave behind is unreal. I get why people are being negative…I get why people are being positive. I’ve experienced both sides to the point I really don’t have an opinion on people suffering from addiction. Just kind of accept what’s going to happen is going to happen and there is nothing anyone can say or do.
  21. My brother battled alcohol for awhile. Was drinking himself into the hospital bc his blood pressure would bottom out and he would be unconscious for 24-72hrs. Did rehab several times. We honestly as a family had accepted his fate and become numb to the point we were waiting for the time he didn’t wake up. Luckily he is sober now and has been for a couple years.
  22. I get your frustration. It’s just the general public my man. It’s full of all types. You will drive yourself nuts wondering why people do what they do.
  23. Many more are genuinely concerned as well. There are also plenty of us like myself that really don’t have an opinion on it. I see a bunch of back and forth about nothing bc no one really knows what is fully going on.
  24. I thought I was seeing Brown was being asked repeatedly if he has an issue with the Eagles. Didn’t really look into it bc I can care less about that drama on another team. Maybe he is a problem or wears his heart on his sleeve and is the best teammate when they are winning and grumpy when losing. Not really concerned so ultimately doesn’t matter what he is. Point is, we don’t really see that here in Indy and definitely not from MPJ. He is a hardworker and I have no concerns giving him a contract when it comes to attitude. Ability aspect has room for interpretation and I understand where the other side is coming from.
