  1. I just watched the interaction and wouldn’t think that is suspension worthy. I don’t care that he was but it seemed more like a compliment than anything. I guess I don’t understand the “outrage” but maybe just talk to him and say it was unprofessional. Oh well, time off is always good!!
  2. I will be honest. The third string QB spot really is of little concern only bc it should be used to groom the future backup in hopes to free up salary cap space. However, if we are going to contend with a running type QB, I believe we will always be spending money on a good backup. Would be great to get a guy on a rookie contract capable of filling the position but typically those guys need 3-5yrs of “grooming” to be nfl ready. So, I guess I consider #3 Qb no man’s land and just throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks. Whoever they choose has little to no bearing on this team. If we get down to this guy we are most likely dead in the water.
  3. I say no. There is a role for him here but at what salary is too be determined. I say the Colts should make an offer on an extension and if it doesn’t work out let him walk.
  4. Maybe. Rodgers was just a part time starter anyways. He wasn’t bad for the Colts but wasn’t great either. He would have played with all the injuries but ultimately I feel the Colts viewed him as a decent backup. My theory is there were more issues with him than we knew and why he wasn’t playing as much in 2022 and was cut. It cost the colts nothing to keep him but they moved on quickly. Saying he got himself suspended a year, I wouldn’t be surprised if their was behavior or attitude issues. Again, just a theory.
  5. Everything you said makes sense. I believe Cross is meant to play strong safety. I do find it a bit telling Blackmon was resigned. Hopefully Cross can show he is making the next step and ready to compete for a starting spot. Colts do have a 3rd and 6th invested in him. Would be nice if that pays off but sometimes players don’t pan out. Still haven’t seen enough to say he is good or not. Big year for Cross and I hope he capitalizes.
  6. Most definitely. Also have Lewis and Franklin in that class. Even though Leonard fell off, still getting a lot of production with 3 starters and a good backup.
  7. He did have some good moments. He still struggled a lot though. Kind of expected from a rookie that had to start 9-10 games. Hopefully he does get stronger.
  8. Freeland still has a ways to go before he is able to win the starting job. As of right now he is probably an average backup swing tackle. Hopefully he takes a big step this year. Barring more injuries, Smith is probably safe a couple more years bc he has played great when available. Staying available is key.
  9. Bud, I’m about as conservative as it gets so take your woke nonsense elsewhere. Not everyone judges looks, especially a GM trying to call a player. Just insecure fools that throw out insults to make themselves feel important. Enjoy the fleeting moment.
  10. No idea who this guy is but I’m always a fan of OL. There aren’t enough OL starters for every team in the nfl and we may have 6-7 starters by mid season. Keys to winning in the NFL: Protect your QB Get to their QB Take the ball away and give it back to your QB 2 down and one to go!! Loving this draft!!
  11. Thanks for sharing. Not sure why people are judging someone’s hair or weight this much. Not so much here but its all over FB in the comments on the Colts post. He doesnt look bad at all, just different.
  12. I love Ballard’s response. Completely out of character for him and felt he let his true feelings come through. Never been a fan of anonymous sources, especially when used against someone’s character.
  13. Same school he coached at I believe
  14. I’m guessing the new DL coach weighed in on this guy.
  15. Solid pick! Man, I’m really liking this draft so far. This guy can play both tackle spots and guard. He is a great addition as depth and may even compete for a starting spot soon enough
  16. Looks like the Colts have killed it these first two rounds. Who needs free agency lol.
  17. Guess I will have to trust their judgement on this one. Thought Turner was the better guy.
  18. Going to be some QB bust coming in the next few years. No way this will work out well with teams reaching
  19. That a great trade idea that could work for both teams. I do believe MN traded this year and next 2nd round picks for #23. Would mean they don’t pick until 3rd round this year and 4th next year. Not sure how stacked that team is to absorb two years of now high picks.
  20. The Detroit Lions already did something similar hiring Matt Millen as GM. I believe he was a TV analyst. I also think the Raiders did that with Mayock or whatever his name was. I know that time in Detroit was super rough and the Raiders under Gruden weren’t successful either. Not sure if either had a background in coaching or the front office before. I highly doubt Madden will ever land anyone a job with an NFL team. It just not close enough to translate to the real world dealing with humans. Similar to me being a guitar player and everyone wanting to see how good I was at Guitar Hero. Nothing about that game was for musicians…it was for normal people to pretend they were musicians. Just like madden is for everyday people to play GM. It’s a game.
  21. I prefer a team full of good football players and 3 “stars” at QB, DE and RB/WR positions. When rosters are top heavy with highly paid 5-6 star players they can have holes in other positions. It’s definitely a balancing act of choosing the right guys and I’m glad it’s not my job.
  22. If the Colts pick a WR in the first, I hope they go with someone with consistent proven production in college. The WR position is very tough in the NFL and prolongs development for those learning the position. I would prefer a player that can impact games through his rookie contract and not start to “break out” year three or four. I have no idea how to determine that so easier said than done.
  23. I just think it’s a couple years too soon for that type of trade. If we had a top 12 defense and AR had played great last year I would be liking every post you have about trading up. I just see that type of capital as two starters and a key backup. One of the picks would probably not pan out but if the colts could hit on two starters and one of them is pro bowl capable, it’s better for the team now. I like how you’re thinking though.
