  1. I’m seeing some concerns too. Possibly refusing to play for some teams, skipping pressers and losing 5 of 6 last games. No idea if it will make him drop or not bc he definitely is talented. Still, not sure he is a generational prospect like a lot claim him to be.
  2. Played around with the playoff prediction graph NY Times posted. Looks like the Colts need to go 5-2 to probably make the playoffs. I basically kept the Steelers game as a loss the entire time bc I don’t see how we can beat them with Minshew’s pocket woes. Looked like a 50% chance at 9-8 if the other two losses are against the NFC teams. I don’t see this happening bc that would be 7-2 to end the season. That is a lot to ask. Still, I hope we can rattle off 3 more wins in a row and play meaningful football in December.
  3. That is a perfectly good reason!! I’m the same way with Duke and the Lakers in basketball. It was probably Coach K and Magic that drew me in but I’ve been following both teams since elementary school 30 years ago.
  4. I literally have no idea. I consider the next two games to be pretty even and could go either way. Losses to the Bengals and Steelers. Could lose to the Texans. I would think they can beat the Raiders and Falcons. Defense has played well two games in row after getting gashed for awhile. One thing is I don’t trust Minshew to win any games for us so it all depends how the defense plays and if JT can get rolling. I think the playoffs are highly unlikely bc we would need to go 5-2.
  5. Colts are .500!! That’s about all I got bc this was a worse snooze fest than last week.
  6. 20pt streak looks to be in jeopardy unless the defense decides to score a bunch
  7. Who has been the most valuable player so far this season? Moss started the season hot but has been splitting carries as of late but still has respectable stats. I believe both Pittman and Downs are on pace for 1k seasons. Franklin leads the team in tackles and is having a great year for the position. I’m torn between Buckner and Gay. Buckner has had a few really nice games where he has dominated. Overall though, I’m probably leaning towards Gay bc he has been nothing but consistent. I believe he has only missed two FGs and one of them was from 60+. He is perfect on extra points. Nice having the position locked down.
  8. In order of importance for next season we need 1st round talent at DE, CB, WR. We need 2nd round talent at S, IOL, DT. Of course we need our QB back. If we can fill 2 of the first three and one of the second group with the right talent, this team can contend for AFC championship game.
  9. Have to beat them first. Will our offense play like they did vs the Browns or the Panthers? Defense travels and Germany is a far away. I hope we send BB home with a pink slip.
  10. I think there will always be some sort of rivalry for us that experienced the Manning/Brady era. I know it goes before that but that era was when it was huge. It still lingers to this day for most of us.
  11. This game was a snooze fest. Took my nephew to Bdubs bc he is a huge Eagles fan and the were playing the Cowboys. Colts were on the big screen and speaker system and I watched the Eagles game more. Happy for a win but 27yds in the second half?!? A win is a win but the offense was ugly. I’m interested to see if it bounces back in Germany.
  12. Colts are still 1-2 GM/HC/QB combos away from becoming true contenders every year. Liking what I see from Steichen but he is tied to Ballard and AR and I don’t think either of those guys will get us to where we need to be.
  13. Ballard is average. His crucial mistake was thinking this team was ready to compete after Luck retired. He should have not went the veteran QB route(it hardly ever works) and instead did whatever was needed to draft a franchise QB. He also spent a fortune in draft capital on DL and there isn’t much to show for it. QB and DL win ballgames. If he can figure out those two spots, the rest of the roster is probably good enough to win the division and contend for AFC championship game appearances.
  14. Our defense is really bad. There is no defending that. Who is to blame is the question. I always thought it was unconventional Ballard decided who the DC will be. All I know is this isn’t working so I expect there to be change soon.
  15. 1-first, 4-seconds and a third have been spent on ER by Ballard. Paye is the only one who has really panned out to be a starter. I understand they aren’t easy to get but that is a lot of draft capital
  16. Ballard’s seat has to be getting warm. No idea who they could hire. GM positions are filled by people we hardly hear about until the team is looking for one.
  17. I agree…no one has said they are bad. I asked the original question to see if my POV is in line with other members bc I don’t watch tape anymore. Paye was added to the discussion but that makes sense bc they were drafted in consecutive rounds. Paye is worthy of his starting spot but not elite and Dayo is a high end backup. To me I think they are meeting the expectations I had for each of them. I do think they were each drafted a round early for how they are producing. That’s not a bad thing but the Colts need a 3 down DE that gets double digit sacks. I don’t think either of those guys will consistently do that ever. I do think Paye may hit 10 sacks 1-2 times in his career if he can stay healthy.
  18. Totally off topic but I was hoping they would shop Buckner before this past draft. If we could get a low 1st or top of 2nd to use on a weapon for AR, I would be all about it. Buckner is solid as can be and a good player, I agree he isn’t consistently a great player. He was acquired for the last DCs scheme and I’m saying this not knowing how import the 3T is in Bradley’s defense.
  19. Ballard has used a lot of draft capital on the DL with average success. These are the times I miss watching film so I can see if scheme or the player is the cause. It is quite the commitment of free time and unfortunately I don’t have a lot of that anymore. It does seem that Ballard does a better job signing FA pass rush than drafting it. He nailed the middle of the line with Buckner and Stewart but it seems the two bookends always seem to be lacking.
  20. Just a few with a quick google search of his name and breakout. I agree…I don’t think he will ever be more than a rotational guy unless he is forced into starting lineup bc of an injury. I’ve been saying this since we drafted him. Still, would like to know others opinions to balance out mine bc it’s biased from watching him at Vanderbilt a lot. https://coltswire.usatoday.com/lists/indianapolis-colts-breakout-candidates-2023/#:~:text=DE Dayo Odeyingbo&text=Now entering Year 3%2C the, late season emergence last night. https://www.stampedeblue.com/platform/amp/2023/7/28/23808500/colts-breakout-candidate-part-ii-kwity-paye-dayo-odeyingbo-edge-rushers https://www.si.com/nfl/colts/news/5-colts-players-poised-breakout-2023
  21. Saw he was named as a breakout player to watch this year. I know he had a monster game against the Rams and I believe 1/2 sack last week. Is he showing up elsewhere not on the stat sheet? I had him at high level backup to average starter when we drafted him. I also believe he was the main reason for the delayed gratification or whatever saying Ballard had a couple years ago. Does he appear to be developing into a player the Colts will want to resign?
  22. They will. A pick between paying fine with cash or card lol.
  23. Not ignoring it, took it into account along with his 4 turnovers for the second week in a row. He did some things well and others terrible like backups do. Of course there were other issues as well and not even close to being his fault why the Colts lost.
