Thursday NBC Broadcast & PFF

If this was mentioned elsewhere, I haven’t seen it.

I was mostly watching the Chiefs and Ravens.   But throughout the first quarter when they introduced each player, NBC also showed the players 2023 PFF score.

That was stunning to me.   Did anyone in the broadcast talk about it?  Collinsworth?
He’s the primary owner of PFF.  I’d think NBC would be obligated to reveal that CC owns the company.   Does he pay NBC to get the PFF grade incorporated into the broadcast?   There needs to be disclosure by everyone.  You want to put all cards on the table so everyone knows what’s going on.

And I say all that as someone who who has a PFF subscription.   So I believe in the product.   But full disclosure is always good.  Better safe than sorry.

Anyone?

I know I’m sometimes a little slow on the uptake…. But I confess that one sailed right over my head.   No clue.   You got me!

I did take notice of the PFF scores during the introductions. I did find it odd.  I really never gave it anymore thought.

Personally I can't imagine those grades could have been revealed without someone getting paid.

Why? I haven't a clue.

    • Up til now? Voted yes. His roster build philosophy is flawed. While nobody can force free agents to sign with the Colts, his failures in that department can't be hidden. Speaking of hidden, he takes too much pride in finding the hidden gems in the lower rounds of draft while over complicating the early rounds with questionable picks. His admitting he was wrong in roster philosophy was his 2nd chance and it hasn't worked out. But..my vote might change if he fires Gus Bradley and gets a formidable DC soon
    • you're right, if AR all of a sudden starts balling out the ballard job firing thing might be put on hold
    • Some interesting comments in this thread, some pretty off the wall ones too. What I saw was players earning life changing money that had no urgency, low energy, motivation and pride. I do not know what the staff is teaching, but it needs to be fixed. There were only a few players that played like their future depended on their performance, or they owed the team their best effort for what $$ they committed to them. Film room this week should be harsh, and challenging, all the lack of effort on film should be asked in front of the team " Is this a $70 million dollar NFL player, a $40 million player, $20,$30 etc. bruise some egos, wake them up. Then bring in the coaching staff and ask the same questions to them.
    • Supposed to be Tomi, but he’s also really raw and looks mostly to be a pass rusher. They need a true pass rushing and run stopping 3-tech to develop behind Buckner. He only missed 1 game in his career up to this point, but with his age that may not be sustainable. Especially since it looks like he’s going to miss significant time as it is.
    • Yep. I think big changes are coming up this next off season.
