Jets Sign WR Enunwa to 4 Year Extension

I saw some on here saying we should bring him in this off season, but it looks like that will not be a possibility now.

He's a physical WR that can play inside and out and would have been a nice guy to go after.

 

That said, this is a pretty rich contract for a guy who has been hurt quite a bit. Goes to show that salaries should be off the chart this off-season.

 

Would be wise to use our cap space to really lock in some of our future free agents to some long term deals.

The Jets have a lot of cap space.  If they gave Enunwa that kind of money it would seem like Bell is going to get a big offer from them that he can't refuse.  Big paydays coming up for a lot of FA's.

It's a slight overpay tbh. I went to the Jets site to see their opinion on this, and although most liked it, one person showed a spotrac article saying his production was worth a 6.6 million dollar a year contract. So a slight overpay. This shows though, even with players like him, that signing your own players to multi-year 2nd contracts will be expensive, and it's good to have cap space, just like our situation in the upcoming years.
