Injuries have put the franchise exactly where it's at today, but it was destined for certain mediocrity this season without them.
The FB Gods have done us a favor all in all.
Or, if you look at our Total Assets to Liabilities, our Team is failing due to Natural Selection.

GO Niners GO Browns GO Giants

a top pick isnt whats going to save us.  its about avoiding the injury bug and not taking a bust in the first few rounds every year

the right players were on the board in the past, we just didnt take them

So the coaches forgot how to coach after three years of winning?  There was no problem winning before 3 years of bad drafts and 3 years of free agent bust. Out of all the players drafted and the free agent singings how many of those players are even on the roster?

Yet it was 3 years of SH___ football, of barely beating bad teams. HOMER on Stevie Wonder.
And please don't bother with the very few nice wins, it happens to most mediocre teams, or beating the Bengals with their whole receiving core and 2 LB OUT, OR beating the BRONCOS when their QB couldn't complete a pass over 10 yds. Chucks mediocrity was well discussed those years, we were just waiting for him to improve. And still...

The 1st way to plan a mediocre season is to keep this Staff.
The 2nd way to Ensure a mediocre to worse season is to turn over half your roster and replace your veterans with inexperienced youth.
The Plan is on target and then some thanks to the number of critical injuries.

Hey, we are just not LUCKY this season.

Exactly. Plus not signing free agents that don't contribute.

I said in an earlier post I hated bringing up the patriots but they never draft early and they have no problem finding players who fit their system. They have the hardware to prove it.

WE could win a super bowl and you would find fault with something.
