Broncos resigned the safety for 4 more years at $28 mil.($17.5 guaranteed)

Is $7 mil a year a little low for a staring safety.?

A little low?  He will be a paid as a top ten safety

That helps, but before the Stewart contract they were projecting nearly $50m in cap space in 2017. They are doing a great job with the cap, but not having a highly paid QB helps, for now. But they need Paxton Lynch to be the guy.

They paid QB money to Von Miller but you're right, they have 5 years (now 4) with Lynch at a relatively low price.

 

..I'm assuming that DeMarcus Ware is making his farewell tour, too.

 His money comes off the books.

I also just have a feeling that when they can part ways with DeMariyus Thomas, they will. Not because he isn't good. But because the offense Kubiak runs doesn't require (or fully utilize) game-breaking wide outs.

His money is probably better spent, on a Kubiak team)  on another top O-lineman or linebacker
