Colts Free Agency and Mock Draft (post Jackson arrest)

Recommended Posts

I think we can all agree ILB is a big need along with front 7 help in general on the defense. This draft and free agency helps with that along with getting key pieces elsewhere...

Free agency

Colts resign obvious players

Colts cuts: Laron Landry, D'Qwell Jackson, Trent Richardson, Donald Thomas, and restructure deals with RJF, Cherilus, and Walden to make them more cap friendly next season.

Retired Players: None (Reggie and Cory agree to come back for 1 more year, not costing much against cap)

Colts sign free agents: NT Dan Williams, S Marcus Gilchrist, S Bernard Pollard

Draft

Indy trades down with Washington for their 2, 3

Indy then trades down with San Fran for their 2, 3

Round 2 Pick 14 (S.F.): Eric Kendricks, ILB/OLB, UCLA (A)
Round 2 Pick 29: Carl Davis, DT/DE, Iowa (B+)
Round 3 Pick 5 (WASH): Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon (A)
Round 3 Pick 15 (S.F.): Ameer Abdullah, RB, Nebraska (A)
Round 3 Pick 29: Lorenzo Mauldin, OLB/DE, Louisville (B)
Round 4 Pick 29: David Cobb, RB, Minnesota (A)
Round 5 Pick 29: JaCorey Shepherd, CB, Kansas (A-)
Round 6 Pick 29: Tyrus Thompson, OT, Oklahoma (C-)
Round 6 Pick 31: Titus Davis, WR, Central Michigan (B+)
Round 7 Pick 28: Trey DePriest, ILB, Alabama (D+)

Dqwell isn't getting cut for that.

And I hate to say it, but as of now Reggie Wayne will only slow down the development and PT from the young receivers.

Saw the other day that Wayne played one more snap than TY Hilton this past year even with missing a game

What is the point of trading down in a mock draft? There's no way the Colts would even get those picks in real life either. It just invalidates the whole post.

I 100% agree. As soon as I see a trade it ruins the mock draft. But people still do it a million times every year.

Agreed. It's just not realistic.

And I highly doubt Washington will be trading up again right after the ridiculous RG3 trade.
