Why gamble with a guy with no HC experience who has a rap sheet, even if it was mostly when he was in his 20’s? There are reasons he has been interviewed so often without a HC offer and surely some of those reasons are that rap sheet. Of course if any owner would overlook a troubled life it would be Irsay. -
Steichen may back out as soon as he finds out he's going to be stuck in a room with Irsey for 12 hours -
Renegotiate and extend those you plan to keep. Trade those you can. Cut those you MUST. -
It may scare someone away, maybe a favorite of yours, but I'm sure most (all?) of these guys have an idea of what Jim is all about. Getting along with, or even just impressing, the owner is an important aspect. Jim's not going away anytime soon, it would appear.
