Are you all going to follow the real draft with us on the forum? It is usually a lot of fun. I once participated in the Chat on the forum during the first round.

This year, I requested the day after round 1 of the draft as a floating holiday. I have off on that Friday. Can't wait.

I'm going to try to be in the chat intermittently. Draft weekend is the same weekend as the comic expo up here every year.

  2. With the 71st pick in the 2023 Gavin Mock Draft, the New Orleans Saints select:

    B.J. Ojulari, DE, LSU

Saints aren't leaving anything up to chance this year. After over a decade of needing a steady pass rusher opposite Cameron Jordan, the Saints double dip at DE in hopes that they not only find a Pass rusher to play opposite him, but maybe even find an eventual replacement as Jordan is getting up there in years. Ojulari will need to gain a little bulk to be a 3 down player, but can come in off the bench year 1 as a speed rusher with arguably some of the most refined pass rush moves in this draft class.

  3. With the 40th Pick in the 2023 Gavin Mock Draft, the New Orleans Saints select:

    Keion White, DL, Georgia Tech

Saints opt for a bit of a tweener, hoping that he can solve any one of the holes on their DL. He can play a bit of DE in running situations, and move inside on passing downs. This gives them some flexibility depending on how 2021 first round DE Payton Turner shows up this season.

  4. With the 29th Pick of the 2023 Gavin Mock Draft, the New Orleans Saints select:

    Zay Flowers, WR, Boston College

With Michael Thomas not showing much in recent years, and him being a yearly cut candidate, New Orleans decides that they want to give new QB Derek Carr another weapon in the passing game. Flowers fits the bill as an electric playmaker who can work out of the slot day 1.

We need some people to volunteer as commissioners. @csmopar, @chad72.  Any others??

Anyone have a fair way to award the Colts to a GM?

Can we get fans of other teams to draft for their teams? @Lurk McGurk, @VikingsFanInChennai, @RollerColt

Last year, we had a Raiders fan @LV-FrontRow

    @CR91, @DAB68 @danlhart87 @coltsfanej, @Clem-Dog, @stitches @SaturdayAllDay  Do you all wish to play this year?

    Has anyone seen @WarGhost21?

Yah you count me in for the Saints, as always.

Hi there, I have not seen you here in a while. Are you still happy with your picks?

    Hope all is well.

Hey! Everything is going well, thanks, been around but haven't been posting much. Hope things are going well for you too.

I am still pretty happy with those picks. Burks started off pretty rough but at least you can see the flashes that you expect will become more commonplace down the line. Cross looks like a stud already, and Brisker is a bright spot on a rough Bears Defense. Parham is similarly looking good on the Raiders, but needs an offseason of strength and conditioning training as he seems to be falling off a bit and hitting that rookie wall. Mitchell will take some time to work his way up the depth chart potentially, but he is seeing a few targets recently. About as good as can be expected from a late round pick.

All in all its looking good.

    Saints 2022 picks:

    16) Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas

    19) Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi St.

    49) Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State

    98) Dylan Parham, OG, Memphis

    120) James Mitchell, TE, Virginia Tech

All in all very happy with my choices and excited to keep an eye on these players regardless of where they go.

I was bang on position wise. Right positions, wrong players. Cross fell in our draft but would have easily went with Penning had Cross been taken. Brisker went 1 pick before the Saints 2nd round pick too. Would have been VERY interested to see what they would have done had he lasted to their pick.

The one thing I have learned over the years is Chris Ballard is great at finding value in the draft. He doesn't always go for the immediate need but gets a guy that can make a HUGE difference and is at the top of their board.

With the 48th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft the Indianapolis Colts select TE Trey McBride Colorado State

McBride is the #1 TE on the board and an easy selection for the Colts. I think he comes in and helps Ryan out!

First off, beautiful pick, definitely sniped him away from me. That one kind of hurts a bit tbh.

Secondly, Thanks for the quick selection, as I have to run to my axe throwing league and was just about to message my list in.

Kind of a Dammit/Thank you response

    That being said,

With the 49th Pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints Select:

    Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State

Saints love having playmakers in the secondary, so they roll the dice on a coverage safety with some physicality, and hope that his physical play at a smaller size doesn't land him in the trainers room consistently. Will rotate in to begin with and end up the starter by midseason, and hopefully for the next 5-10 yrs.

  9. With the 19th Pick of the NFL Draft, The New Orleans Saints select:

    Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas

After 2 seasons of next to nothing from Micheal Thomas, the Saints decide to inject some new blood into their WR group early. Burks has the talent to take over for Thomas, or give Jamies Winston a very sold 1-2 punch at WR if Thomas regains his form.

    DE?  or DT?

Jordan Davis is such a hotly debated player, that I wouldn't want to pick him in someone else's stead.  Does he really deserve to go this high or not?

To be honest I dont know much about Jordan Davis as a prospect. Derek Wolfe and Calais Campbell are their current 3-4 DEs, and their current NT is Michael Pierce. All three positions could potentially use a bit of young blood.

    Did @runthepostget their pick in?

If @WarGhost21 does not select a player for the Ravens by 10:30, who should I select? (Just think about it.)

@The Old Crow What does your team need? Is there a player that you would like to see the Ravens draft?

Looks like DL, CB (slot), and OC are probably the top 3 positions needed, taking a quick glance at their depth chart
