Jets coach Robert Saleh fired

The Jets fired Robert Saleh after a 2-3 start.

 

Yes, they weren't playing well.  But they were only 2-3.  Still within reach of the Bills.

Yahoo News suggested that Saleh wasn't getting along very well with Aaron Rodgers.

Is it possible that Rodgers got another coach fired?

Reports claim Rodgers had nothing to do with it and didn’t know. Saleh came into work this morning prepared to plan for the next game, was called into a meeting and promptly fired. 
 

But… I can’t sit here and say everything was fine between Rodgers and Saleh. I mean the relationship was already not too great when Aaron skipped the summer practices to go to Egypt. You’d think if he was all in on a redemption tour he’d be working his tail off in the offseason. He’s only got maybe another year left.

Woody Johnson, the longtime owner of the Jets, says the firing was entirely his idea.  He’s owning it.  
 

But then, this happened…..

 

Security stood by while Saleh packed his office, and then escorted from the building.   In nearly 60 years of following the NFL, I’ve never heard of that happening.   Not once.   
 

Was it Salah’s fault that Roger’s hurt his Achilles in week 1 of 2023?   Was it Salah’s fault that Roger’s too most of the off-season and pre-season off?   
 

I think there’s much more to this story.   I’m not claiming Salah is a great Coach,  but I think he deserved much better than he got.

I didn’t say Salah had a bad relationship with Roger’s.  Though plenty of others in media are.  
 

Here’s what I learned since my post.   Salah demoted the OC, Nate Hackett.   He’s Rodgers handpicked OC.  
 

Reportedly Rodgers spoke to the owner, and Johnson fired his HC.   I think the dots connect easily.  
 

So, I guess NOW I’d say Roger’s had a say in what happened.

That’s the first I heard of the demotion.  I could see Rodgers going to the owner and the rest is history.  Salah had to know he was offending Rogers.  Looks like Salah wanted out to me.
