Contracts are almost a wash.... and

 

It's a nice draft for Centers

 

Early Rounds: JPJ, Zach Frazier, Graham Barton

 

Mid round: Sedrick Van Pran, Beaux Limmer, Tanor Bortolini

 

Late round: Drake Nugent and Matt Lee

 

Budda Baker have asked for a trade in the past and he could help our secondary

Idk I like budda but I don’t like messing with the line . We had bad lines and have seen what that looks like . Kelly had a pro bowler year this past year . The year before his wife had a miscarriage I could only imagine what he was thinking . I like him as our center I wouldn’t move him

I hear ya just trying to sell high on him.... and he's in the last year of his contract

I have to agree with keeping Kelly. Don’t mess with a good thing. They DO need a center fielder though. Simmons would be my choice.

It's a nice draft for centers and we will eventually have to turn over the offensive line so why not do it while we have the whole left side playing at a high level and a highly regarded guard in Nelson to help protect the rookie

I beg to differ  when it comes to

 

positional value (especially when you have a top guard playing with him)

 

Concussion concerns

 

And family tragedy 

 

I think we would be doing both us and him a favor by shipping him out

I have actually read a few articles where they said Baker is available for trade.  So it’s not out of the question.  He is on the final year of his contract so I see a trade similar to the one for Buckner.  Trade and extend.  I don’t see a 1st rd pick though as the compensation.  I could see Ballard being interested like he is for Sneed.  They are both around the same age.  Bakers contract would be less so I wouldn’t say it’s entirely off the table.  Just depends where Ballard thinks the focus should be.  He is in great position to draft a starting corner with the 1st pick.
