Which Division in the NFC is the Toughest for the 2023 Season?

Maybe the North? The Vikings have been tough for years, and the Lions showed a lot of moxie last year. And the Bears should be much better. The Packers will be interesting with Love.

The rest of the divisions have about two great teams per division. 49ers should repeat as champs, same for the Eagles. The south will all be retooling this year so who knows, maybe Reich and the Panthers surprise everyone if Carr and the Saints can’t figure it out.

NFC East because the Giants would be improved this year along with the Cowboys that I can see the Eagles splitting with both of them. However, NFC South would be competitive for the just above .500s, with all of them straddling the fence there.

    • Yeah, except for he would laugh in Irsay's face if it meant replacing Ballard. If it meant those two working together, then it's possible.  We might find that Ballard has more clout and respect among executives in the league than anyone realizes. Simple indirect phone call to him asking if they should entertain the job could reduce the amount of quality candidates to choose from. It's not going to be big anyways. No Qb, Head coach issue, Ownership drama, no high draft pick, small market. Not great.

Unfortunately, @Yoshinator failed to pick, so he went from 74-49 to 74-64 because of an 0-15 week. He can still pick like Chugga for fun.   We are through half the season. Strategy time for most people, switching, etc.. Technically if Moe wanted too he could pick the same as me the rest of the season and win by 1 game, problem with that is, there are 4 other players that could pass him by doing that so he still may not win the Championship. I ran into this with @chad72last season, because Chad was on my rear, I had to pick different than he and Moe both because it's about winning the Championship. Finishing 2nd is like kissing your sister,. If I would have had Moe just to worry about, I could have gone the easy route but because Chad was there, I had to worry about both. Chad finished 171-101 last year, Moe and I only beat him by 2 games at 173-99. This season there are 4 players just 3 games behind Moe and 2 behind me.    Good luck everyone, this is just starting to get good.   @NFLfan, please pin this, thanks.
    • I agree with just about everything you said.  Except that Daniels is clearly a better QB than AR.   How did he get so good?  Five years of college ball.  That’s a lot of experience.     I think AR can also get there, he just need more experience.  You don’t get that by not playing much in preseason games or by running the scout team in practice.     A week ago Shane said AR was our QB, then he changed it on Wednesday.  Today he said Flacco is the QB.  He can change that too.  This season is, and should be, all about finding out if we have a franchise QB.  Not playing a guy who won’t be here next year on the off chance of limping into the playoffs.
    • After listening to some guys talk about it, I’m convinced the issue is Shane, and to a greater extent Ballard.   The issue with Shane is that he doesn’t have much creativity in his playbook. Much like Reich (will get back to that later), his offense is centered around RPO’s. When he can’t run his RPOs effectively (usually due to QB skill), he doesn’t have another club in his bag. Not to mention, it’s not an incredibly hard concept to figure out. Especially if the opposing team has a great run defense. Simply put, if you take away the run part of the RPOs, the offense is one dimensional. The other issue is his penchant for always wanting to go for the home run ball.    The reason this relates back to Ballard is because this continuity, is what he’s becoming known for. Reich ran basically the same type of offense. And like Steichen, if the RPO’s weren’t there, he struggled to adjust and come up with a new plan. It’s the same thing with defense. He has openly talked about how much he loves a 4-3 Cover-2 defense. He hired Flus , and when he left for Chicago, he hired Bradley who basically runs the same scheme.  Ballard is the one who keeps hiring the same coaches year in and year out.    To me it starts with him. It’s the reason why a lot of us have observed that every year it’s the “same old Colts”. Because it is. The same reaches on high RAS players in the draft who can’t actually play like Banogu or Turray. It’s the same offensive and defensive schemes.  It’s the same UDFAs who shouldn’t be on an NFL roster, but are 2nd string players with us.
    • Every Chiefs game is the same. Hopefully Bills or Ravens take them out in the playoffs.
