Long Term Building Through The Draft

So we get #1 this year and the Colts will struggle as all teams in their situation do. That's the bad news. The good news is the Colts should agin be very high in the draft picking next year as well. This is going to be a classic example of football brains ie., the "ability" to build a team that is a champion. This is as tough a job as there is anywhere. It takes brains, insight, wisdom, the ability to hold on to what you have meaning instilling attitude that the days ahead are going to be rewarding. Of course it takes money and if the team is a flop the fans tend to stay home and buy less team logo stuff so revenue sinks and players get itchy. Worse case scenario; Luck turns out to be very good but the team stinks. Remeber David Carr when he was drafted by the Texans he got laughtered by an oranization that didn't give a hoot about winning. He was sacked more time than potatoes. The botton line line in all transistions is there is no guarantee of today or tomorrow. The smartest horse trainer in the world cannot predict the winnner in the majority of races so what is left is............"Luck".
