SENIOR (2014): Most athletic member of the linebacker corps… Works every day to get better on and off the field… Flies around the field and covers the field sideline to sideline… Analyzes plays quickly and attacks accordingly… Disciplined leader who pushes his teammates to reach unprecedented levels of success… Sun Belt Conference First Team Selection… Medal of Honor Bowl Participant… Started all 12 games at linebacker for the Eagles… Led Georgia Southern and ranked in the top-10 of the Sun Belt Conference with 100 tackles… 58 were solo stops… Recorded four tackles four loss… Returned an interception 48 yards to seal the Eagles’ first conference win at South Alabama (9/20)… Had five games with 10 or more tackles… Recorded a season-high 14 tackles at New Mexico State (10/4)… Opened the season with 13 tackles at N.C. State (8/30)… Also had 13 stops vs. Idaho (10/11) and Navy (11/15).

JUNIOR (2013): Three-year letterman led Eagles with 92 total tackles (52u, 40a) in 2013… Posted game-high eight solo tackles and shared game-high total with 10 in Florida game… Credited with six tackles in the first half… Zipped through the blocks to record a TFL in the first half with a pass breakup as well… Selected the College Sports Madness SoCon Player of the Week after his defensive efforts and game-high 10 tackles in Florida victory... Top tackler for the Eagles in seven games, sharing honors three times… Racked up double-digit tackles four times during the season, including back-to-back weeks with career-high 12 at Appalachian State (6u,6a) and 11 vs. Furman (5u,6)… Also had 10 (7u,3a) at Wofford… Tallied eight total tackles (4u,4a) to lead Eagles vs. Mocs… Top tackler again vs. Samford with five solo tackles and a sack for a loss of seven yards… Fumble recovery at the Samford 22 yard line led to a quick Eagle touchdown on the next play… Also had two quarterback hurries in the first half vs. Bulldogs… Opened the season by sharing team-high tackles totals with Kyle Oehlbeck with five (2u,3a) and shared a TFL vs. Savannah State… Shared lead for second straight game with Oehlbeck for then-career-best nine total (4u,5a)… Seven tackles (3u, 4a) against Catamounts with three quarterback hurries… Recorded nine tackles (4u,5a) at Elon in final SoCon game... Following the Florida victory, raised funds and planned and organized a trip over Christmas break to Costa Rica to hold a clinic to teach American football to village children with the help of former Eagle Men’s Soccer player Chris Claxton and his family.
 
SOPHOMORE (2012): Played in 12 games, in all but Furman and Central Arkansas contests… Made major contributions as a member of Eagle special teams unit and as reserve linebacker to earn second letter… Leading tackler in Blue-White spring game with 10 total tackles… Secured ball after heads-up play on Eagle fumble on kickoff return deep in Georgia Southern territory in Old Dominion playoff win…Had season-best four total tackles (1u, 3a) at The Citadel… recorded a half tackle for loss, shared with Justice Ejike in that game during critical fourth-quarter drive… had three assisted tackles vs. Samford, teaming up with Rashad Williams to hold Bulldogs’ Fabain Truss for no gain at GSU 11 as Samford settled for a field goal on drive… Returned squib kick for 16 yards at Georgia… Recorded 16 (5u, 11a) total tackles on the year with six total tackles on special teams including solos at Georgia, vs. Elon and at North Dakota State… Earned academic recognition for fall 2012 grade point average of 3.25.
 
FRESHMAN (2011): Played in 13 games after joining team as a walk-on... Posted six solo stops and 10 total tackles... Made a season-high three stops in the playoffs against Old Dominion (12/3).
 
PREP: Played for head coaches Minnis and Allen at Westlake High School in Atlanta, Ga... State wrestling championship finalist for the 189 pound class... Lettered three times in football and served as team captain for three years.
 
PERSONAL: Born Edwin Joseph Jackson on December 19, 1991 in Atlanta, Ga... Brother Adam Jackson played basketball for Albany State.
