  1. Damn!!! You really have to wonder how that happens. Is Miami historically good? Or is Denver historically bad? Or both? Is Denver tanking to get the No. 1 pick in 2024?
  2. It really does depend on who starts. But I think AR is the key to winning, since I don't believe in the Colts ability to run the ball, even with Zack Moss, against a good Ravens run defense. I'm not saying they can't win with Gardner, but I think AR opens up more possibilities and is harder to defense against than Minshew.
  3. They didn't show it because it's disturbing. You can find the replay on Youtube if you're curious. I feel bad for the guy. It's definitely a career-altering type of thing.
  4. I went back and watched the 1st half and Pierce is getting open. I some cases they're sending him downfield and on longer routes that take time to develop, and the QB is just choosing to dunk the ball off for shorter completions. In other cases, the QB simply doesn't notice that Pierce is open. For example, in the 2nd quarter, with 2 minutes left, the Colts have 2nd and 4 at the Colts 49 yard line and Minshew doesn't see that Pierce is wide open on the leftside of the field. I don't think the issue is that he can't get open. I think he tends to run longer routes that take time to develop, and that it's just a matter of time before his production improves.
  5. I'm not ready to write him off yet. He had 41/593 last year, which isn't bad considering the QBs had no time to throw (to him or anyone else). 2022 is a larger sample size, and this is just one game.
  6. Steichen has said you throw to score and run to win, and I can only assume that had something to do with it. The Colts are up 21-17 in the 3rd, and for no obvious reason he starts calling run plays in a game where the run game was going absolutely nowhere. That, to me, looks like playing to not lose versus playing to win. The 3rd quarter is not the time to suddenly become conservative in your play-calling, Rookie coach or not, I'm assuming his eyes are still working, and that he could see the run game wasn't working. Hopefully, he learns from the loss. It's just one game, and there's a lot of season left.
  7. He doesn't really seem to get rattled. He seems wise beyond his years.
  8. I felt like Steichen was channeling his inner Frank Reich in the 2nd half with the play-calling.
  9. Thanks, Jaxjag! Good luck (but not too much ;-))
  10. To connect on deeper passes you'd first have to attempt some.
  11. Yeah, the passing game was working pretty well, and then for no apparent reason they went with run plays, which were basically wasted downs. Also, I don't know why they never tried to push it downfield.
  12. My heart says Colts over Jags 28-24 My head says Jags over Colts 34-17
  13. Agree. If Taylor returns, I would expect the workload to be similar to when the Colts used Hines and Taylor in combination. Hines was the change-of-pace back.
  14. A VPN is a good option so long as there's a server in the Indianapolis metro area. If you use YouTube TV (not regular YouTube) in conjunction a VPN, AND you specify your location in YouTube TV -> Settings -> Location -> Indianapolis Area, then this should work.
  15. I don't know if anyone will ever top Trent "rolling ball of butcher knives" Richardson if you're talking about trade blunders. At least Wentz was semi-decent for a minute (except when it really counted.)
  16. He WAS a difference-maker when he was healthy. Is he still the same player?
  17. I can see merit and blame on both sides. But there reaches a point where "right" and "wrong" no longer matter, and like it or not, a contract is a contract, and that's the point we have reached.
  18. Oh I see, so when someone on YouTube expresses an opinion, then they get first dibs on the opinion, even if it's one you may or may not already hold. Gotcha.
  19. Ballard needs to stop making it personal when it comes to his relationship with the players. This is a business, and his job is to MANAGE the team, not be a friend to the players, or care about their feelings, blah, blah, blah. I would've much preferred he say something to the effect of, "Johnathan's a great player whose still under contract, and we fully expect him to suit up as soon as he is medically cleared."
