  1. The Colts paid him $50M, exercised great patience as he rehabbed, then gave him every chance to prove he could still play at a high level, and even paid tribute to him, and now he somehow feels disrespected? Sounds like a wounded ego. Hard to take seriously.
  2. I hear Ballard talking about overpaying free agents, and yet he doesn't seem to have a problem paying big bucks to in-house talent. Maybe there shouldn't be a distinction between in-house and outside talent when it comes to assessing a player's market value. Anyway, I'd re-sign Pittman, so long as he doesn't want outrageous money. There seems to be a new trend with contract extensions, where it's not enough to simply get a new contract; it has to set the record as the highest contract for the position, almost as if for bragging rights, which I have a hard time relating to. I'd also re-sign Grover and Kenny (with the same caveat).
  3. I don't know if it would've made a difference today, but in general, he doesn't seem to adapt. He likes to rush just 4, but there are games where that isn't working and yet he keeps doing it. Colts seem to allow too many 3rd down conversations.
  4. I'm worried about not having Grover Stewart to defend against Derrick Henry.
  5. In yesterday's game, yes. But Moss has gained yardage in similar situations this year. And he's shown big-play ability. Taylor made a lot out of a little yesterday, and deserves recognition for that. But he also averaged just 2.6 and 3.0 years/carry against Carolina and New England respectively; so there's been some good along with some not-so-good. Overall, I think he's getting back into form, and the big-play ability is still there. But the big, "wow" type plays haven't been there as often as they were in 2021. The numbers pretty much tell the story. 2023 Stats: Moss: 141 carries, 4.8 yrds/carry, 5 TD, long 56 Taylor: 100 carries, 4.1 yrds/carry, 4TD, long 42 Taylor got the contract largely based on his 2021 performance. Moss would probably still be near the top of the league had Taylor not cut into his carries. I'm glad Taylor is back, and I'm not saying he doesn't deserve the carries. But the Colts run game wasn't bad without him, and that's just a fact.
  6. He's an unrestricted free agent next year, so I don't think he'll be traded.
  7. One is normally 'pulled over' or 'taken in' (to custody). He said "pulled in", which is a mix of the two, so your guess is as good as mine. In any case, whether he was referring to the stop or the arrest doesn't really matter, unless we're in a court of law, which we're not. His point was that the police were unfairly prejudiced against him because he's a rich, white billionaire, which is kind of a baseless claim since the was pulled him over with cause, and arrested him with cause.
  8. Sorry Jim, but "prejudice" isn't the reason you were pulled over. You were pulled over because you were driving 10 mph and could barely speak.
  9. It's not about loyalty. It's about business and winning.
  10. IndyStar published an interesting article about Richardson's recent surgery. In the article, Dr. Morse, who writes writes reports on NFL players' injury histories, discusses Richardson's injury history dating back to high school. He discusses the AC injury, and why it was a good thing he had the surgery. I'd suggest reading the actual article, but some key take-aways, according to Dr. Morse are: The ligaments were likely weakened due to previous injury [which] can make them weak and prone to injury. It won't impact him. He won't have power issues or accuracy issues. His risk for injury to the point where he'd have to have surgery again is probably 3%.
  11. Did anyone else tune into the Dallas game yesterday? I kept hearing what I thought was a drunken fan shouting "Yeah, here we go!!!" right before each play, only to realize that it was part of Dak Prescot's pre-snap cadence. (YouTube link) I've never hear a cadence quite like that. Not sure what to think of it. Almost sounds like a caricature.
  12. It's a good thing the Colts weren't playing a competent team today.
  13. If there's a "killer instinct" that's missing I'd say it's on the defensive side. Even when fully healthy, I just don't think Gus Bradley brings the heat often enough. I feel like he's giving opposing QBs too much time to pick apart our inexperienced secondary. I know that blitzing comes with its own risks, but I'll take that over the Tampa 3 or whatever it is that describes Bradley's scheme. Defense is the reason we've lost the past 3 games.
  14. Let's say they trade Moss for a 4th or 5th. Then what? Do they draft an RB with a 4th or 5th? And if so, is that player going to be as good as Moss? With Moss, you know what you have, and given the RB market, I'm not sure I see him commanding a large salary. If the Colts can get him on an affordable contract, then why use a pick on an RB when there are other needs. I'm not saying your opinion is wrong--an opinion can't be wrong since it's an opinion. But I just don't see what the Colts gain by trading away a capable backup when there's always a risk that Taylor could get injured. This is especially true when you're giving him a heavy workload.
  15. I'd love for Zack Moss to have an opportunity to be THE guy somewhere. My thought was simply that the Colts don't really have anyone proven behind Taylor without Moss. So I just don't see them parting with him. But who knows?
  16. There's no way they trade for Jeudy. Nah-gah happen. Zach Moss' utility value to the team greatly exceeds value in draft capital. I don't see it happening I think a trade is possible, but it would be a low-level trade for a solid CB. That would be the only reason for a trade.
  17. This is just noise. It's a team sport, and other players want the ball too.
  18. It's a nice change-of-pace. The black is more menacing.
  19. Absolutely agree. No effect, receiver wide-open. I don't think I've ever been more disgusted by a bad call before. There's no such thing as celebrating a big play in the moment--you have to wait for the flag.
  20. Considering this is the 2nd time he's injured this AC joint, I think surgery is the right choice, especially if the repair involves the placement of ultra high-strength permanent sutures.
  21. This would be interesting, although the injury history concerns me. Source: https://www.si.com/nfl/colts/news/jerry-jeudy-colts-broncos-call-trade-rumor
  22. Kind of a random post here...I just saw this on X, and t shows a firey side to Steichen and Minshew that I've not seen before. They're amped, and I like it!
  23. Per the Athletic: "Richardson previously sustained an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder during his senior year of high school in 2019."
