  1. Considering this is the 2nd time he's injured this AC joint, I think surgery is the right choice, especially if the repair involves the placement of ultra high-strength permanent sutures.
  2. This would be interesting, although the injury history concerns me. Source: https://www.si.com/nfl/colts/news/jerry-jeudy-colts-broncos-call-trade-rumor
  3. Kind of a random post here...I just saw this on X, and t shows a firey side to Steichen and Minshew that I've not seen before. They're amped, and I like it!
  4. Per the Athletic: "Richardson previously sustained an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder during his senior year of high school in 2019."
  5. I'm n expert, but considering he's injured this same AC joint previously, I'd be surprised if they didn't recommend surgery. Conservative treatment is for people who aren't professional athletes and whose careers don't depend on having a 100-percent functional, healthy AC joint.
  6. I want to see Richardson out there if he can be, but I have to say, I do feel confident in Minshew when he's out there. He's a good passer, decently mobile when he has to be, and has the mental processing part down.
  7. Good find. As the doctor alludes to, the fact that they didn't initially rule him out of the game based on the x-ray findings seems to rule out some of the more severe damage, which is a good thing.
  8. Per IndyStar, "QBs lost an average of 17.3 days to AC joint injuries. The report added that 88% of AC joint injuries to quarterbacks were treated without surgery."
  9. What worries me is how Richardson dropped to his knees on the sideline before getting back up on his way to the locker room.
  10. What the doctors don't know is the extent, if any, of tearing. That's where the MRI comes in.
  11. I don't think AR could've done anything special to avoid the injury he sustained today. For the most part, it's just bad luck.
  12. It was uncomfortable, that's for sure. But he wasn't under attack. The media's job is to elicit the truth by asking the right questions. That's just them doing their job.
  13. Yeah, I think he's on the Chiefs' practice squad.
  14. I wonder if the Colts are still content with their decision to release Darius Rush.
  15. Which OL? The one that played today or the one that features Raimann, Nelson, Kelly, Fries and Smith? Oh wait, were you talking about the Rams or Colts?
  16. His dead cap hit is $8M in 2024 and $4M in 2025 if they flat-out released him, which I don't see happening. Next year will be year-3 of the 5-year contract, and given the cap investment, I think the Colts will wait until 2025 to make any moves.
  17. Yeah, in theory they could go finish the season 15-2. 😉 It's still early in the season.
  18. Not to split hairs, but I kinda feel like there's a difference between not making the catch, and making the catch but not holding onto it. From a stats perspective, a drop is a drop. But some receivers just aren't sure-handed, and I don't think that's the case with Pierce. His high-profile drops have been forced by defenders, like when a defender fell on top of him in the endzone in game-1, and then again last week when he stretched out and clasped the ball, but couldn't hold onto it because he was airborne and the defender got his arm in there.
  19. Stafford tends to hold onto the ball longer than most QBs. In fact, he ranks near the top in average time between snap and passing (or pressure) at 2.7 seconds. (Source) The Colts' pass rush did a pretty good job against Lamar Jackson, who gets rid of the ball fairly quickly (just 2.2 seconds) AND is mobile. So I feel like that's a good matchup.
  20. Pierce has been a victim of the laws of physics. In the first game, he had a defender literally fall on him in while he was trying to make the catch. And yesterday, the defender just managed to jar it loose at the right time. Not much more you can do when you're outstretched with both hands clasped around the ball, and the defender hits it the right way--unless you have 3 hands, of course.
  21. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Kickers are underrated. The Matt Gay signing was a shrewd move by Ballard.
  22. Damn!!! You really have to wonder how that happens. Is Miami historically good? Or is Denver historically bad? Or both? Is Denver tanking to get the No. 1 pick in 2024?
