  1. I’ve been a fan since 90 or 91. I can’t remember if I started following the Colts in 3rd or 4th grade. My favorite baseball team was the Reds so I also did like the Bengals as well. Once I got to middle school it was all Colts. I have really chilled out the past few years with football in general though. Part of it may be the Colts have been inconsistent but it also coincides with when we had our son so maybe I’m just busy. Still post on these boards every week but I don’t follow the draft or other teams much at all. If they are really bad this year I can see myself skipping 2-3 games if the family has something they want to do. Not sure if that makes me a fair weather fan or not.
  2. I hope both of these are true. We need high production from each position.
  3. This is a tough one. There is a lot of solid talent at WR but not high end that I see. I guess it all depends on how AR5 develops. I think this will be an evaluation year. I don’t think the Colts are done drafting at WR so I could see MPJ walking and another young high draft pick is brought in the next year or two to grow with our new QB.
  4. Jelani Woods in the red zone. Zack Moss in the backup running back role Rodney Thomas proves rookie year wasnt a fluke establishes himself as a starting safety in this league.
  5. Thank you for posting those. I forgot about those guys. All three were very good running backs.
  6. While I agree with what you are saying I get what he is too. T Davis is the most recent RB on your list and he retired 21 years ago. Definitely a different era. Are there any elite or pro bowl RBs in the last 20 years that played on a single team? I’m not challenging you and only curious bc it’s an interesting topic. Google didn’t bring back much besides an article listing the four players you named. Did see that article list Jamal Charles but it looks like he played two games for Jacksonville his last year. I do think it’s rare at any position to play for a single team. Did run across a fun fact. With the Aaron Rodgers trade, Dak Prescott is the longest tenured QB for the same team right now. Thought that was interesting.
  7. I always hate to see injuries like this to late round rookies. They can make it really hard for them to ever get their career started. I understand ACL injuries aren’t what they used to be but it could be 2 years before he is back to preinjury form again. By then he will be 26 and battling two more draft classes for a spot on special teams.
  8. Correct, I did not like the group with Matt Eberflus and their ability to develop the defensive line. Never felt we had a consistent pass rush. So far I like what Bradley, but more importantly, Ollie has done with the pass rush. I believe we were right around the franchise record for sacks and a couple other metrics. Jury is still out on this group and the team will need to rely on our defense more than ever. Going to require players to make 2nd and 3rd year leaps, including Dayo. A ball control offense that helps our rookie QB could also help the D as well. As always I will take a wait and see approach.
  9. More of a personal feeling from watching him at Vanderbilt. I think he has a lot of great traits but doesn’t use them. He disappeared for long stretches and would lose leverage and get knocked around and on the ground a lot. Some of this is being the only NFL caliber lineman on his college team and the rest is need of coaching. Things may be different now but I didn’t trust the last coaching staff to develop him to his potential. I see him as a high end back up to average starter which is a great floor. If he is an average starter he is worth the 2nd pick. He is still very young and has shown flashes. The million dollar question will be is it his athleticism or his technique developing.
  10. I’m on record stating several times I don’t see him being more than an average player. I’m hoping I’m wrong and he makes the leap. This team will need him this year bc it will rely on defense and the running game more than ever.
  11. Pass rush Secondary WRs I don’t think we are done drafting at any of those position groups unless a star emerges. Seems like they are all good by committee so would like to see if that plan is working or if someone steps up.
  12. I see people claiming all over social media the NBA is rigged. I’m sure the gambling and officiating controversies added to that along with biggest reason being people just like to talk nonsense. The NFL has been very good about keeping a clean game. I bet they come down on Rodgers extremely hard if he bet on games he was playing in. Honestly, I was rooting for Rodgers but if he bet on the Colts they should kick him out of the league forever. I love the NFL and I don’t want to listen to the nonstop media madness that would surely happen if they let any kind of gambling conspiracies gain traction.
  13. Sweet!! 347 points to go for me. I went ahead and reacted everyone’s post in this thread. Still at 347 so I have more work to do lol!!
  14. Dear Isiah Rodgers, You knew what you were doing when your family and team needed you. So with the most sincerity, I have one thing to say….
  15. I wish there was a single team option on one service. I subscribe to YouTubeTV every season and cancel it right afterwards. I think I kept it this year into March Madness but didn’t pick up another month once Tennessee and Purdue were eliminated. If it gets too difficult I will not watch the games. I enjoy watching the Colts more than anything on TV but I’m already paying $60ish a month extra during the season. Any more and it will become a special occasion thing like bacon and chicken wings. Yeah I can afford them fine but they have become too expensive for what they are, especially considering how cheap it used to be compared to everything else.
  16. I much prefer the 4:30 time slot. Lets me have use of the day and get work done around the house or do something with the family. I get the appeal of 1pm though bc it allows a lazy Sunday afternoon and is really nice when going to the games.
  17. We will be picking in the top 10 of the draft. Possibly top 5 if a few position groups don’t step up. Honestly, if that puts us in position to draft a legit WR or DE, I am all for it. This is a good roster in many areas but it lacks impact players at some key positions.
  18. Peyton was an incredible QB. Hands down top 5 at his position and arguably #2. He was so much fun to watch and we were lucky to have him on the Colts.
  19. Yeah the play was a bummer. I see it has the pick 6 the Saints defense made more than a mistake by Manning. They beat us that game, we didn’t lose it. I’m totally fine with that. Reich was not a great coach. He was average with great and bad moments. I’m glad he is gone. Not sure what Steichen will do either so going to wait and see. Im confident Reggie will be a better coach this year and even better next year. I hope he keeps building his experience and has a successful coaching career.
  20. Would be killer if they could but to consistently do it we need a QB like manning and a WR like Wayne.
  21. Another example of just bc you can doesn’t mean you should. Too much unnecessary risk of alienating one of the greatest Colts and the fan base.
  22. The biggest issue is there aren’t 160 starting caliber OL in the league. Available FAs may work for us but it would just be a temporary band aid. Best bet is to develop our own and fill the position that way. We have viable options in the building worth exploring first while also considering bringing someone else in.
  23. We don’t have a pass rush, thin on proven corners and safeties, our All-Pro OL and LB are coming back from injuries, no established bonnafide #1 WR and a rookie QB. 5-6 wins will be a good year. Anything more is exceeding expectations…anything less means we have some roster decisions to make. Going to be a fun year I look forward to watching.
  24. 3rd in the division and maybe challenge for 2nd if Jax doesn’t take the next step as expected or Tennessee starts to unravel. Both possibilities could happen. I think we will be picking in the top 10 again but trending up.
  25. IMHO, I think there is too much build up. It was just a huge guessing game with new reports dropping every week. Even got a notice from BR about Vegas saying Levis was trending as the #1 overall bc he was telling people the Panthers said he was their guy. It was relentless.
