2025 NFL Draft:

Round 1 - OT Wyatt Milum (WV) - 2026 looks like a very weak OL class compared to 2025 and best LT I have is Fernando Carmona (Arkansas) and RT Logan Brown (Kansas).  Do we attempt to move Smith to RG?  Blackmon's case as the best available SS still doesn't shy me away from SS Lathan Ransom (OSU) as next BPA.

Round 2 - DT Tyleik Williams (OSU) - Originally have him listed as a 3-tech that ran a good 4.78s-forsty at 290-pounds and would have been a good compliment behind Buckner.  He gained weight this season moved to more a 1-tech which is what am looking for someone who can play both DT spots behind Stewart and Buckner.

Round 3 - TE Harold Fannin Jr. (Bowling Green) - With Granson out the Colts take Fannin who has been on fire this year.

Round 4 - LG/LT Joshua Gray (Oregon State) 6'4" 310-pounds.  Both our OTs will be FAs at the end of next season.  Freeland still hasn't inspired much confidence.  Colts hopefully get a much-needed upgrade to backup Raimann and Nelson.

Round 5 - RDEdge Mike Green (Marhsall) 6'4" 248-pounds runs a 4.57s-forty.  Earned Midseason Second-Team All-American honors.  His 9 sacks and 22 defensive stops ranks tied for third among all DE's while his 31 pressures rank first.  Dayo got resigned but Ebukam is entering his final contract.

Round 6 - MLB Shaun Dolac (Buffalo) - Much like Franklin who ran a 4.62s-forty, Dolac has ran a 4.64s-forty. Made Midseason First-Team as nation's leading tackler with 87 (17 more than anyone else).  His 90.4 TACK grade on the season ranks first among all LBs.

Round 7 - SWR-ST Jaylin Noel (Iowa State) - With Dulin gone the Colts get another accomplished WR to replace him and a solid special teamer.  Prior to the start of the college season, Noel was tied for fourth with 33 consecutive games with a catch.

Is it our guys or..... our scheme?

Both. As much as you hate Bradley’s soft zone, we don’t have corners besides Kenny Moore who can match up in man. And we can’t really project anything with Brents because he’s been way too injured. Even in Cover-2 zone, it’s hard to stop the pass when one of your starting corners runs a 4.57 40 (Jones). Colts don’t have great DB’s and Bradley’s scheme is awful. Both of these things can be simultaneously true. That’s why to me the solution is to draft better players and change the DC.

To me the 1st round pick has to be a defensive player at CB, SAF, or Edge.

I know Steve Wilks have connections to both SS and CB. I'm sure Robert Saleh will be a hot name, and if I remember correctly CB interviewed Mike Vrabel.....

All have pros and cons

Steve Wilks does great with his secondary

Robert Saleh does great with the DLINE

These guys have connections to up coming free agents or trade targets which can change our defense over night

Jaycee Horn CB Panthers Wilks/trade

Bryce Hall CB played for Jets Saleh

Chazz Surratt LB played for Jets Saleh

Talanoa Hufanga SAF Wilks

Dre Greenlaw LB  *Both

Ashtyn Davis SAF Saleh

Shaq Thompson LB Wilks

Isiah Oliver CB *Both

Hoping we can get the Jets DC Jeff Ulbrich with that add WLB Jamien Sherwood and NCB Isaiah Oliver.  See what happens with Ulbrich currently as the interim HC.

And tbh that’s what we need. We need not just draft picks, but some legit Vets on the defense. But the lack of vets is a Ballard issue. He’d rather stack the team with rookie UDFAs than go get proven vets. Thats why I sometimes think that Ballard and Bradley need to go. You need a defensive coordinator with a better scheme, but you also need a GM who isn’t going to give the coordinator absolutely abysmal and inexperienced players to work with. I think changing DC’s but employing the same strategy to talent acquisition on that side of the ball would be more of the same.

Thanks for posting these are always fun to read

First off, I like DT in round 2

However

1) 3 of 4 first round picks for offense might be too much.

We seem to have quality depth and starters across the OL.

I would consider OL in round 4 or 5

2) This team needs defense BADLY

DL is thin

Our LBs cant seem to cover

We could use an early CB and S to develop

3) NINE FAs signed?

Respectfully, I agree that we need FA help but 3-4 FAs seems to be the max that our new GM would bring in

Thanks for the effort though
