You throw to whoever is open end of story.

You throw to who is going to catch it. That was Harrison, Wayne, and Clark in manning era wayne and Hilton in luck era. Pittman and Downs in Richardson era

I mean this isn’t shocking rookie vs a vet and a sophomore player lol.

I agree. Now if the rookie is playing  beyond his years and making plays throughout  the game it be different,  but he failed to get a catch at any other point in game. That could have be disastrous  if the steelers center didn't  mess up.

So if Downs and Pittman are locked down in coverage your logic suggests you throw it to them regardless, which is pretty stupid. These are PROFESSIONAL football players who are getting paid millions of dollars. Whoever is open should get the ball and should catch that ball.

Good players make plays when the game is on the line. Like Reggie Wayne in the green bay game. One thing is for sure you don't  target a guy that has down next to nothing  all game when the game is on the line. That be as silly as when Taylor averages 8 yards a carry all game and with the game on the line and it being 3rd and 2 you substitute  him for a back who got stuffed at the line of scrimmage  all game. Every team has a go to guy. Brady had gronk and edleman Brees had Michael Thomas and Jimmy Graham. Stroud most dependable  target is nico Collins ect

He is a rookie adjusting to the game, there is also a timing issue amongst him not being in the right spots. He will be fine, it will start to click sooner rather than later with him. He doesn’t have a history of the drops I believe he actually had the lowest drop percentage of all WRs drafted this year.

Yep, people forget Peyton threw to the likes of Bryan Fletcher in a critical AFCCG and even a defensive lineman Dan Klecko, lol :)

Brady made a career around seasonal WRs in David Patten, Deion Branch etc. Drew Brees spread it around too. Mahomes has been doing that too since he lost Tyreek Hill.

Like I said blatantly throwing to a covered receiver is *ic, you continue to mention the likes of Marvin, Reggie etc. what did all those guys have in common? You can’t Double cover them all, Hence one being open. Which you throw to them, why? Because they’re open. These are all NFL players , yes some are better than others but they are Professionals at the end of the day and have made a NFL roster. You’re paid to catch a ball regardless if the game is on the line or not each catch should feel routine no different than the next.

Throwing to two of your best receivers at the end of a game isn’t exactly a shocking game plan and other teams know that’s where you want to go to so sometimes they will double or even triple those guys to take them away in that situation forcing you to go somewhere else.

Until he starts catching  passes you don't  go to him when the game is on the line

I didn't say he wasn't going to be a good player.  We can look at him after his 2nd year to determine if he is worth the 2nd pick.
