He has the tools, talent, and potential to put it all together and become a dominant EDGE rusher. Doesn't mean he will, just means he has the talent and tools as I said.

Again I disagree. Hes a situational guy who will never be dominant. He can easily be productive but the star you make him to be, I dont see it.

I do. I think he could be the best pass-rusher in this draft. I think the dominance he displayed in college was amazing when it comes to pass rushing  - 27% pressure on passing downs. That's insane!!! That was first in the country and the average for pass-rushers is 10%. He has the best burst off the ball in this class and he has a nice repertoire of moves, combined with good strength.I think his run-defense problems are way overblown. He's not bad run-defender. Alabama just had better ones and put them in on first and second down.

But I do think there are a lot of question marks about him. He can very easily turn out to be a Randy Gregory type of a bust. He's reportedly failed 7(SEVEN!!!!!!) drug tests in Alabama. wth? How can someone fail 7 tests, never be suspended or thrown out of the football program? I don't get it. This doesn't seem to be a regular guy who once or twice smoked pot and got caught. He got caught again and again and again and again ... AND AGAIN... AND AGAIN... AND AGAIN. He seems to not have the required self-control and presence of mind to not jeopardize his multi-million dollar future for the sake of having fun. I have no idea how a GM can draft him early and invest millions in him at this point. I personally wouldn't draft him in the first two days form what I know, even though I think he's clearly a first round talent. There is no reason to knock his talent, when it's not the problem. The problem is what's between his ears.

If he's  going to be the NEXT Randy Gregory, why did all these teams, incuding our Colts, have a private workout with him???

Seems like a waste of time and effort on someone who will fail his first drug test and be suspended for life. Lol

Due diligence don't wanna take him off your draft board without spending sometime with the young man .

Yep, I like that we are doing our due diligence. if Ballard thinks he can control his drug use and not get in trouble, I guess I will have to trust his judgement for the time being. His record seems good enough so far to warrant it.

Plus the NFL is looking into changing the outlook and punishment for Marijuana use.  That will allow a lot of players to become more favorable coming out of college.  If it goes through with votes and negotiations with NFLPA then this becomes less of an issue among a lot of players.  Jerry has a lot of pull they say...

College statistics dont tell the full story. He was and can be a productive pass rusher but he'll never be a dominant player. His run D is rightful criticized. Lacks strength at POA to maintain gap integrity and once hands get put on him he struggles to disengage. Fully agree on the off field stuff.
