FSU vs Oregon

Recommended Posts

I hate both teams. But this is a horrible officiated game. Utter disgraceful. Also if Titans end up with either one of these guys is great news for Indy

Stanford fan here. Me too haha

But I'm rooting for Oregon right now for the first time ever.

That game was a disgrace to referees. The reason we kept getting burned by the hurry up is because nobody on defense expected the ball to be snapped WHEN 4 PLAYERS ON OFFENSE AREN'T EVEN SET and they were holding on every WR screen.

The truth is our goose was cooked though. The refs were just a random nail in the coffin. I can't believe Jamies was that scared...he purposely didn't run for that 1st down, backpedalled, then fumbled when the defender came closer...all while never being touched. The silver lining is that now Jimbo knows how it feels to be screwed by his defense after his offense did the same thing to us for years.

Mariotta seems coach-able plus you won't get the headaches off the field so I'd be more inclined to go with him over Winston.

I thought Mariotta looked solid, not sure if he's NFL quality, but he was clearly the better of the two QBs.  Still don't get the hype for Winston and he's not even close to being worth the headache.

    • I hope we keep Toppin, I didn't think we would. Paul George went to Philly for 4 years/212 Mill, so now we have them to deal with as well besides Boston, NY, and Milwaukee. I thought we were better than Philly before the George deal, not sure now.
    • Thank you for your response and thank you for enlightening myself regarding Partridge. I recall his signing but didn't know much about him until I joined this forum and read several of your posts speaking highly of him. Thank you!  I have researched him since then and have to agree with you, it is likely that his fingerprints were on this signing.    Davis' contract is such that there is no guaranteed money in his 2nd year, with a cap savings of nearly 6.5 million, so there is an out if needed. https://overthecap.com/player/raekwon-davis/8796    I have to think that his main responsibility is as Grover's back up...we all saw how much he was missed last season. Though, this is where Partridge comes in, there may be additional duties. One thing that struck me was when Partridge said (paraphrased) "that he could get Grover some more sacks.". Does that mean he plans to alter the DL scheme, and if so, could the same benefit apply to Davis? Not to mention @Douzer's thoughts of using both Davis and Grover on 3rd and short plus goal line situations...like you said, I am looking forward to watching it play out as well.
    • I'm not saying he is about to be a sack machine but you can see some of his potential as a one gap penetrator with that frame.
    • Davis came from Alabama. My point of interest as the writer highlighted is he is moving from being a 2 gapper into now only being responsible for a single gap with a lot more penetration from him versus read and react. With his length and power at 6ft 7 300 plus the expectation for him in our scheme is he will be more disruptive. A much more reliable option for us if Grover goes down in addition to whatever else maybe we can do with him.
    • Thank you. You guys are too kind, but I truly appreciate the support.    Perhaps I am being too hard on myself… But my point still stands that anyone who makes it to the NFL, whether practice squad or starter, has achieved something prestigious that only a rare few ever achieve.    Over a million high schoolers play. Of those only 7.8 percent move on to play in college.    Over 80,000 people play in college. Only 0.4 percent make it to opening day in the NFL.    Only 2,016 players make it to NFL rosters.
