  1. Thank you for writing this divineprodigy!!

I was watching Thornton earlier in the year just from a football standpoint and suggested I would love to see him on the Colts.  We now have him :)

I did not know at the time what he had been through.  I too like him even more.  Like Nadine, I too am sorry for your loss.  I lost my mom November 27...and tough times everyday without her.

Here is to a great rookie season for a super young man!   :colts:  :coltsfb:

  2. thanks for the input guys, I just went with a 2-deep depth chart, there are plenty of other players that weren't included.....hard to really rate players you haven;t seen play, just trying to make an educated guess.....ratings will always be subject to opinion :-))

Good stuff.....really the only reason I went NT was injury....and I had to give Links a little love amonst the hat on the board...and Vaughn a kick....Just kidding of course....

Ratings are like mocks.....:)  I look forward to seeing your take on the draft my friend!!!

  3. Nice listing and analysis.  I think the only one I see you may not have listed was the Franklin NT signing in case Chapman is not a go as well as Big Mac.  Tevaseau is still on board in case McKinney cannot as well.

I may be in the minority on the board, but as you show Link at a 2.5, I give him a 3 for durability and versatility....16 games is 16 games in the NFL :)

Vaughn I would rate lower and would like to see moved, but time will tell.  I think I want Edges jersey off of him more than anything buddy!!   :)

Fun stuff...and here comes the draft!!!!  Go Colts.   :coltslogo:  :coltslogo:  :coltslogo:

  4. Some of the breakdowns on contracts make them look a little better in terms of over-paid....the media does feel we over-paid for sure. :)

I like the moves made, and to me Grigson has set himself up for a draft day that is easy for the Colts....by BPA at each draft pick... that is the Grigson specialty IMO!!

    Thanks for the blog Colts7!!!

  5. I have watched alot of football, I have seen guys who are probably in the top 10 on that list, look like marginal players, at times, not claiming to be an expert on personell, just basing it on what I see when I watch games and to take it a step further, not sure who did those lists', but from my experience, about 10% of footballs writers have the slightest clue what they are talking about

ps- I remember a few years back, EVERYONE was blasting Tim Jennings-why is he playing? He's worthless..................wonder if he enjoyed Hawaii, this year

    One mans goat....is another man's Clydesdale :)

We tend to slam and slam one guy....just like Lacy....if Vaughn can play like the one All Pro Day he had....I would keep him.  I have seen rumors that Grigson would keep him.  So if I am missing something...been thee done that buddy :)  Good stuff!!

  6. I am amazed nobody has made a comment on this....I knew I missed one or two :)

My only disagreement is Vaughn and Gordy.  We need an upgrade big time over Vaughn. (if not only to get 'Edge's jersey off of him :))  He was burnt far too many times, and only had 1 solid game IMO.

Gordy is fast as lightning....I just wish he could cover.

Just my observations, not being critical.  I totally agree with the safety situation.  'Zibby' is no better than a 3 safety...ST.

Special teams improved, but still gave up some big plays at the wrong times....blocked punts/kicks can make the difference in a game or two....need to 'lock em up.' :blueshoe:  :blueshoe:  :blueshoe:

  7. I don't know why some teams just don't get it.................they use the same mindset, year after year and get the same results (losing) year after year and refuse to change that mindset....this is suppossed to be a copycat league..why don't those (losers) pay attention to the teams that win..........every year and .........its not rocket science, really it isn't

Maybe Grigs learned from the Eagles......hoping!!  :)  Good stuff buddy as always!!  It looks like you have a couple of blogs I missed.  I will be back.

  8. Grigs says he does not need name players.  While I agree to some extent, a Spencer or a Kruger would be nice...and a couple of at least 'known o-linemen.

This year is a totally different animal than last year.  It is much easier to see mistakes made when the talent is 'supposed to be superior.'  Last year we needed a program :)

  9. I am of the mindset that speed trumps size, most of the time, which is why I never had a problem with the smaller athletic defense of the past, I know all about the we big-we bad mindset. I don't really think it matters, as long as it produces victories........it's really not the norm, to find guys who are big and fast, unless you have a top 10 pick, those guys don't come around too often, but they are game changers

I agree there is no substitute for speed.  While I would like a game-changing big wide out, we get the same benefit if we get the TEs more involved.  With the Athleticism and size of Allen and Fleener, LBs need to have the same fear as those who face Hernandez and Gronk.....minus his boo boo :)

  10. Hello there Coltsguy510!!

I like the FA Offensive linemen.....if we do not break the bank (yes I realize how much we have to spend) and what I want to see happen is Spencer.

I know a lot of folks on here do not agree on Spencer, but I feel he could be  THE 'disguise' guy that makes the difference between the defense we had this year and traditional Ravens 3-4.  I have felt he can go hand down in the NFL, and in our defense disguise is 'priceless.'  Link below on Spencer willing to play DE.  It does not hurt with Emmanuel and Grigs he is from Purdue either.   :)

    http://espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/story/_/id/8840594/anthony-spencer-dallas-cowboys-willing-switch-defensive-end

I think the only thing I would not consider is Cave from ND....Satele has a 3 year deal, and Shipley if surrounded by studs will be a SOLID center as a starter.  If Grigson trades Satele, I would take that flyer on Cave to develop in case we are wrong on Shipley....or if he has any lingering knee injuries.

I usually do not get in too much detail...pick one or two things.  I am confident that with Pagano and this group, players that arrive here will be ready, willing and able to continue to build the monster!!!

  11. Looks like all of my friends are spot on.....last year's team had what Bill Parcells called an "excuse to lose" with the great 18 down.

This team to me has/had everything to play for. Think about how many rookies and players with 'less than' 1 year of experience in the league. Some players were in with the thought of "If I cannot make this team.....what team can I make" mentality.

That said, a weak schedule and good solid hard play has made this one of the most enjoyable in my memory....lets keep it going shall we? :)

    :pass: :coltslogo: :coltslogo: :coltslogo:

  12. A little late to the parity party, but it seems you are spot on as I have agreed all year long Colts7! I would still like to have the JAX game back, but I will not complain!

Who would have thought the Dolphins and the Colts would have a key game in Week 9 as it relates to the AFC....Parity rules the AFC other than Texans, Pats and Broncs....all an injury away however.

Great post Nadine...thanks!! And always...thanks for the blog buddy!!! :)
