  1. Like the helmet. Jersey I can live with or without. Didn't like the blue pants. The Colts have tried blue pants a few times over the years and every time they don't work.
  2. He also has 30+ starts I believe. Even in losses(outside of Oregon) he's put up great numbers. I don't put too much issue into the Brady thing. As you say, about Deon, unlike most of these guys he's had a coach who will have zero problems telling him he aint (expletive). But more qb's in the first(assuming that Richardson returns fully healthy) is a bonus for the Colts in this upcoming draft. Teams that are looking to get a qb and move into the Colts slot to get him will know they have to pay a premium(a la Chicago trading up for Justin Fields).
  3. 100% right here. And those 4 months from their last NCAA game to the draft are going to be the most nitpicking process ever and just look to last year's process to get an example. Even though his father/coach said it isn't happening, I'd like to see Shedeur Sanders come out too and just add another ingredient to the pot(only helps the Colts imo).
  4. Considering how his father was, it's amazing the person Mr. Irsay became.
  5. well if he gets the surgery right now that would be over 6 months before 2024 draft. i have no medical background to know where that would put AR in his rehab but it should give the team a better idea of his return status. what i dont want to see is the team and AR wait a month and then decide to have the surgery. if you have to pull the trigger, pull it now
  6. I know no one wants to hear it, but if your colleague is accurate, qb has to be considered with next year's 1st
  7. If that is indeed the team's reasoning then I'm shaking my head. Taylor had performed coming into this season, we all knew his worth. If a contract offer was done in April we avoid all the ugliness of the past months and more importantly maybe turn either/both of this year's losses to wins. Bottom line Im happy to have Taylor locked in for 3 more years. But as of right now it all seemed avoidable.
  8. It's an incredibly short-sighted idea too because if you were the player and said "well I don't want to go to a bad franchise" if you're still that great of a player you're still going to be in the top 5 and almost certainly a bad team the next year so are you going to then run through all your college eligibility and sit out a year without getting paid???
  9. I wish I can remember the guy on twitter who used Gay's contract as a negative comparing it to the Taylor contract situation!
  10. I can only think of one player who was draft eligible who actually sat out the whole year and re-entered the draft(former Colt Craig Erickson, drafted by Philly and sat out and drafted the next year by Tampa. Not including Bo Jackson because according to him he was going to close the door on football). I think it's a lot of talk right now, and come this time next year Caleb will be playing for the team that drafts him in the 1st regardless if it is traded for or not.
  11. Agreed. And if the team starts off 0-3 the likely answer, or part of the answer, as to why is that those veterans are not performing up to their contracts.
  12. You have to consider the Colts have gone from an 11 win team to a 9 win team and finally to a 4 win team. It's not surprising that the term "rebuild" is going to be put out there for a team with a new HC and a rookie starting qb as a team's win total slide. It's certainly not technically accurate because the roster was in no way gutted(which you would see in a true rebuild), but from the outside that tag is gonna stick.
  13. I thought about that the other day, there's plenty of them on ebay!
  14. I haven't cared about preseason performance in a long time and this year is no different. If play is concerning in games that matter then it's time to worry
  15. I can't explain why but that one really just hit me pretty hard. RIP Sean
  16. Wow good question. By the numbers a 2nd would be too much, but there is no reason for Washington to part with him for less. If there was full confidence in his health then yes, but that is a mighty big if. Actually it's so big we have to put it in caps: IF. Declining the 5th year option only gives the Colts 1 year but they could still tag him if he had a big production year. I would still be surprised if Washington makes the move. While a 2nd round pick is nice, if Chase came to Indy or anywhere and put up 16 sacks it would look horrible for the new franchise owners. If he stayed there and didn't put up numbers that warranted an extension they could just blame it on Snyder(for which there is much to blame).
  17. But the Colts got back 3 picks for trading George to Atlanta in 94. While George's career in Indy was a disaster, at least they got something for him.
  18. Living in Ohio it's a must. If the Browns, Bengals, or Steelers are not on...we usually still won't get a Colts game!
  19. I doubt it too, it would take a failure of epic proportions on and off the field. And you'd need to have the 2024 top prospect's rating come out so far ahead of everyone of the 2023 and 2024 drafts. Additionally you would have to eat Richardson's contract(because who would give the Colts anything for him if he failed that badly and everyone knew the Colts would take a qb again). At this point if they do have the #1 pick again, you do what Chicago did and find a trade partner and get a fortune in picks and players back.
  20. What should temper expectations of win/loss improvement due to the draft is the majority of teams coming out of the draft feel the same way: issues address, talent added, etc. The Colts aren't acting in a vacuum. While I think that the team did an excellent job in addressing needs in the draft, Solid84's concerns over the limited playing time Richardson had at the collegiate level is valid. I expect to see a lot of Minshew early on and there's a reason he was available for a 1 year, 3.5M contract. The quality of the level of play from the qb position at this point for the Colts is the biggest question mark on the team and realistically lead to a sub .500 record again.
  21. So I guess my question is will another qb be brought in? Ehlinger now stands as the 3rd qb but he's got a total of 240 snaps in the nfl.
  22. I would absolutely lose it if the Cardinals were again in #1 and had to decide on a replacement qb!
