  1. You have to consider the Colts have gone from an 11 win team to a 9 win team and finally to a 4 win team. It's not surprising that the term "rebuild" is going to be put out there for a team with a new HC and a rookie starting qb as a team's win total slide. It's certainly not technically accurate because the roster was in no way gutted(which you would see in a true rebuild), but from the outside that tag is gonna stick.
  2. I thought about that the other day, there's plenty of them on ebay!
  3. I haven't cared about preseason performance in a long time and this year is no different. If play is concerning in games that matter then it's time to worry
  4. I can't explain why but that one really just hit me pretty hard. RIP Sean
  5. Wow good question. By the numbers a 2nd would be too much, but there is no reason for Washington to part with him for less. If there was full confidence in his health then yes, but that is a mighty big if. Actually it's so big we have to put it in caps: IF. Declining the 5th year option only gives the Colts 1 year but they could still tag him if he had a big production year. I would still be surprised if Washington makes the move. While a 2nd round pick is nice, if Chase came to Indy or anywhere and put up 16 sacks it would look horrible for the new franchise owners. If he stayed there and didn't put up numbers that warranted an extension they could just blame it on Snyder(for which there is much to blame).
  6. But the Colts got back 3 picks for trading George to Atlanta in 94. While George's career in Indy was a disaster, at least they got something for him.
  7. Living in Ohio it's a must. If the Browns, Bengals, or Steelers are not on...we usually still won't get a Colts game!
  8. I doubt it too, it would take a failure of epic proportions on and off the field. And you'd need to have the 2024 top prospect's rating come out so far ahead of everyone of the 2023 and 2024 drafts. Additionally you would have to eat Richardson's contract(because who would give the Colts anything for him if he failed that badly and everyone knew the Colts would take a qb again). At this point if they do have the #1 pick again, you do what Chicago did and find a trade partner and get a fortune in picks and players back.
  9. What should temper expectations of win/loss improvement due to the draft is the majority of teams coming out of the draft feel the same way: issues address, talent added, etc. The Colts aren't acting in a vacuum. While I think that the team did an excellent job in addressing needs in the draft, Solid84's concerns over the limited playing time Richardson had at the collegiate level is valid. I expect to see a lot of Minshew early on and there's a reason he was available for a 1 year, 3.5M contract. The quality of the level of play from the qb position at this point for the Colts is the biggest question mark on the team and realistically lead to a sub .500 record again.
  10. So I guess my question is will another qb be brought in? Ehlinger now stands as the 3rd qb but he's got a total of 240 snaps in the nfl.
  11. I would absolutely lose it if the Cardinals were again in #1 and had to decide on a replacement qb!
  12. I would wholeheartedly agree with this. Especially for the team's slot receivers, the need to be able to complete the catch and take a 7 yard pick up and make it 11 yards and a 1st down has been lacking for a LONG time(maybe all the way back to Anthony Gonzalez). Downs knows how to get open and secure the ball, that's going to be a big help to this offense and maybe the most impactful pick for this season.
  13. Two of the PFF analysts gave an A and an A-. We'll see how it all goes.
  14. well from what I said previously you wouldn't cut Smith until next year. right now his dead cap number makes it unfeasible to do anything now, but next year cutting Smith saves the team about 10m in cap space if I remember correctly. Freeland would have to show some aptitude in his rookie year to make that possible and right now that's a long shot but to me it seems unlikely to pay Smith 15m a year as a guard in the case that Freeland excels as a tackle
  15. wow I lived in NYC for years and never heard of it!
  16. Alright who watched a lot of Wagner football(and also where is Wagner)?
  17. agree but he had a lot of fight in him and I wanted a backups for Kelly
  18. I thought the same thing, basically the same type of player.
