Trying to shift Doug Martin (trade advice)

Recommended Posts

You are really screwing up if you do it.       Martin is GUARANTEED touches week in week out.

Moreno and Bernard..   those are dice rolls every week until someone gets hurt.

Martin is the MAN in TB.   I got him too...      don't give up.

Doug Martin + Anquan Boldin for Knowshon Moreno + Gio Bernard.

What do you make of that?

In a few weeks SF gets MM and Crabby back...   then AB will get some more run.

I think Bernard had huge upside and Moreno has been decent. Boldin has been blanketed in coverage and fairly quiet but could still break out like he has a couple times.

I'd do it

Yes Martin gets carries. But what has he done with those carries?  So far he has been a bust in FFL.

He's had touches all season and he hasn't done anything with them.

Do you not think his production will drop even lower now that they have a rookie QB? Load the box to stop the run, then force Glennon to throw?

Bernard/Moreno is a pretty good deal. If you could get that, I'd prob do it.

But Doug Martin is a commodity. As a Martin owner I prob wouldn't move him for anyone but a few people. Ap Charles McCoy. That's probably it straight up.

Martin is on track for 368 carries. 35rec and around 1500yards....is you told me that at the beginning of the season I would thrilled....his TDs are down no doubt, but if you expect Martin to finish with around 8tds like I do, then Martin is track to score around 7tds in the next 11games...

    • No worries.   Wasn’t making fun of you.  If I had one dollar for every brain cramp moment I’ve posted here, I’d be rich!      It’s all good.
    • I'm very interested in Carlie's as well.  I'm just not sold on our starting LB core.
    • I also forgot to say I think Buffalo will also have a down year.
    • Yeah North.....maybe I got confused about the Pittsburgh Pirates playing in the central.  But I think before realignment there were only 3 divisions, I think.. Like the Colts and Dolphins played in the East, the Raiders and Broncos played in the West and the Steelers and Brownies played in the Central.  But yeah my mistake the Steelers currently in the North division.
    • I just wanted to give Pitt some love for his recent comments about Indy and family values. I also loved what he said about focusing on the long term financially and considering the situation youre in. He appreciates his place in the organization and that speaks volumes about him as a man. The Texans can have guys like Diggs, Im happy with Pitt. Just a top notch dude.    This is a place a lot of people love to hate on, for some reason. But he is living proof that all this rhetoric about how "nobody wants to live in Indiana" is just bonafied baloney. So many former players stick around here after retirement. There is a reason for that.    He is the exact kind of person you would think wouldnt like it here. Rich california kid whose father played in the NFL. Lives on a little farm in Indiana with his wife, who is also from California. And they both love it here.    Those huge cities are very over rated and it isnt for everyone. We just have to find people like Pitt who do and allow them to become pillars of the franchise.
