What the Colts did Right

The Colts looked great tonight, especially on the D-line. Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis combined for 2 strip sacks and a total of 3 sacks. Drake Nevis provided good pressure while on the field, but there was one player that really stood out in my mind, besides Freeney and Mathis. That man was Pat Angerer. He had a bunch of tackles, and had Mendenhall's number all game. Antoine Bethea also had a good game, and Powers played well too. Joe Lefeged got his 1st career interception off an overthrow by Ben Roethlisberger. The defense held the very good offense to only 23 points which is pretty good. They shut down Mendenhall for most of the game, holding him to 37 yards on 17 carries. They pretty much stopped Peyton Hillis last week, and stopped Mendenhall this week, things are looking good are for him. The offense was generally good. They had some drives were they could have scored 7 points, but we're held to 3, and in some situations 0. Kerry Collins made some good passes today, but you shouldn't be impressed by his performance. The running game was very good, especially Joe Addai who was 14 yards away from 100 yards rushing, and had an average of 5 yards a carry. Pierre Garcon missed a big catch in the 3rd, but did well when Painter was in the game, getting 2 big catches, and nearly had another for a TD. It was generally a good game, especially against the reigning AFC Champions.

What the the Colts did Wrong

The Colts were pretty bad early, letting them score an 81 yard touchdown. They also let Antonio Brown get a number of key third down conversions that would end up costing us the game. The pass defense was generally mediocre for most of the game, and besides the interception by Lefeged, the Colts let the Steelers get some big passes against them. On offense, it's clear that Kerry Collins is not the answer. He had another bad game, but did make some nice passes, but's that's not enough. The O-line was bad late in the game, letting Harrison sack Painter and letting them constantly pressure him. Need to work at that. On special teams, they had one big punt return against the Colts, but that's it.
