  1. aaawwww....that's so sweet! Congratulations! What a wonderful time for your family.

on a side note I'm really not happy with Mr. George R.R. Martin right now! A 3 YEAR OR MORE WAIT FOR BOOK 6??????????????? I can't wait! what if something happens to him in the meantime! Also a possible book 7??

Mr. Martin is breaking my heart!

  2. I'm with you Wyld1.. are far as child psychology goes, many parents fail to account for their childs readiness to deal with violent images, sex, inappropriate behavior etc, whether it's a video game or a movie. If a child is still believing in santa or other such fantasies (tooth fairy, etc) they are unable to separate fantasy from reality and are very likely to believe those images they are seeing are how people are supposed to behave. The age children are exposed to these images is very important and some people start that way to young, then wonder why their 13 is pregnant. I'm not blaming media for people's actions, it's just a small part of the psychological puzzle in child development and I again go back to a child knowing their self worth, this starts very young.

  3. I have the same basement Maureen.. for some reason I have my sisters kids crib, who are now 18 & soon to be 16? Why my basement, LOL?

My Mom keeps bringing over lamps, collectibles, antique phones, and all sorts of stuff and photos....and I'm supposed to do what with this? LOL...someone in the family has to be the memorabila keeper huh?

Cute blob subvet! thanks for the bread! ;)

  4. I'm with you Kayla, it's very scary and hugely concerning. I think for kids, the school is their "world" so to speak, so this is where rage and frustration is acted out. I think stopping this epidemic starts with the parents. I'm going to open a huge can of worms here, but last year a young man age 15 took his own life. There was a huge backlash in the community and an uproar about bullying as his parents blamed bullying, however, many in the community and neighbors know of a different story in which the real bullying was happening at home. He could of taken his rage out on the school, but instead took his own life, instead of others, but still a tragedy. I fortunately live in a pretty good community, with parents who not only love their children, but actively participate in their upbringing including their education and sports and also share in the parenting with the community. I think one of the biggest reasons my kids are so good, is because of how many people they would disappoint in the community if they did not. They genuinely care about what their friends parents think of them, what our pastor and their youth counselors think of them, and what their teachers think of them. They have pride in themselves and the image they put out there and that comes from the home and starts early with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends. It does take a village and communities need to help each other raise good kids and show them their worth. If a child has no self worth, they have no respect for anything.

  5. Barry, good info regarding Saturday. I wonder if he is waiting to see what Peyton will be doing to make his decision. Saturday, while anchoring for the combine he said he is weighing many options, hinted at possible other teams, but also probably broadcasting. He has talked about broadcasting many times during his stints on Bob & Tom's "Saturday on Mondays". I think he's too young, he can do a few more seasons! :)

  6. Thanks Barry, good stuff.. guess I've reached my quota of "positives for the day" because it won't let me "like" it. :)

@BrentMC11... I'm excited about what I think Pagano can bring to Indy and it was a nice surprise to see that some of my favorites will still be with Indy and are appreciated for their talents! I'll be glad to see a return to a defense that can handle both the run and pass!

  7. As quoted from Colts.com Craig Kelley article

“We’ve had some talks with Jeff. It’s more that I bumped into him at one of the Super Bowl functions,” said Pagano. “Jeff is a great guy and he’s done great things for this organization and this community.

“Right now Jeff is trying to decide whether he wants to keep going, how much gas is left in the tank. We certainly think there is some there, and we’d love to have him be a part of our program moving forward. He’s sitting down and visiting with his family and trying to make a decision on what he wants to do.”

sounds to me like Colts camp is still interested in Saturday

  8. Was the word used as a historical reference? * in armor? seems to be manufactured controversy to me.. had no one hyper focused on the word *, as being used in an inappropriate form (I don't believe it was intended as derogatory in this context) then we wouldn't even be discussing this today. Society and all races need to remember to laugh at themselves now and then or we loose all sense of humanity. I have a new "neice" this year, an exchange student staying with my sister who is from Vietnam. She is adorable and quickly became a loved family member, despite my father having served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. They had lots to talk about and it was not akward and she also had a chapter at the high school regarding what is now called the "Vietnam Conflict (conflict, ugh)" and the material taught was exactly the same as what she was taught in Vietnam...just the facts. If people could be more honest, real racism would go away. People are just people no matter where they come from, we all want happiness.

  9. I'll eat my hat if it's about money for Peyton, I really don't see him expecting his 28mil.. he just doesn't seem that way, plus his great grandchildren can't spend all the money he already has... I sure hope #18 will be back in the saddle for the Colts, I sure would hate the Colts to have to play against him. Irsay would do well to keep Manning in the family, even when he does stop playing he is still a huge asset for coaching, scouting, management, etc..
