  1. Young doesn't have much talent around him. But before the season started, people said the same thing about Houston. A lot of pundits had them as the worst team in the league. Young definitely needs help with the Oline. Stroud was always my #1 (and not just because I'm a Buckeye). He's a very accurate pocket passer who can move when necessary. An ideal NFL QB. He's showing that a good QB can make a mediocre team dangerous. Let's hope AR can stay healthy and continue to flash. (But, dang it, there are a lot of really good QBs in next years draft)
  2. Actually, Lincoln did NOT have a secretary named Kennedy! (Oh, is this the wrong thread for that? Sorry)
  3. I'm not going back through a hundred messages. But I was just laughing about all the people here who didn't want Stroud. "No Ohio State QB is ever going to be good in the NFL!" You know who you are...
  4. No doubt. He’s WR #3. But he’s a decent player. Maybe when they look at the film and see how open he’s been they’ll start throwing to him more. Look, this team isn’t going anywhere with Minshew. They need to work on developing players like him and Downs, and the young TEs. Get them ready for AR.
  5. Pierce can’t catch the ball if they don’t throw to him. He was open a lot today. And he’s a great run blocker. Sometimes people get too wrapped up in stats and don’t see the game.
  6. They haven’t even said the word Colts in whole segment so far. Amazing.
  7. Watching the postgame. I’m not sure they knew the Colts were in that game. only talking about the Pats.
  8. MVP QB who somehow 'forgot' how to play QB in Super Bowl 3.
  9. I have to disagree. If you look at the top 10 QBs projected to be drafted this year, I'm not sure the four last year would be at the top half of that list. Pretty sure that Williams would have been the first pick this year. Daniels is amazing and moving up the boards. Of course, by Combine time the pundits will have had time to look at every frame of footage, measure their hands, time their releases, etc., and perceptions could change. I think the eye test is more important that physical measurables and stats. Not just for QBs, but for all players. It seems that "Are they good at football" is becoming less and less important when evaluating these guys.
  10. I have no doubt that the very same discussion is happening in the Colts front office right now. I believe in AR and want him to succeed. But this is a QB rich draft, maybe one of the best ever. And we really don’t know if AR can stay healthy. Of course, the down side is there will be a QB controversy. But that also means great competition. The bigger issue is that we have so many other spots that need addressed, we can’t afford a luxury pick.
  11. Bo Nix, Jayden Daniels, Maye, Sanders, McCarthy… No need to tank, there’s a lot of really good prospects. Would this board freak out if we took one with our first?
  12. TBH, I’ll be surprised if we win. Stack the box, double MPJ, and the Colts offense is done. Shane better have a TE heavy passing scheme ready. Except for Buck and Kenny, the defense is below average. Without Grove they can hardly stop the run and can be thrown on to the outside. I’m hoping for a win but don’t expect it.
  13. Also a rumor that he would resurface in Washington. I just don’t see how you could fire the best head coach (arguably) in NFL history mid season. Thats disrespectful and would be bad karma.
  14. He’s not on an NFL team. So it shouldn’t surprise you.
  15. CB had three shots to pick up a very needed pass rusher. Each one would have cost no more than a 2 or 3, and if he worked out we could have signed him to an extension. I'm not pretending that it would have turned around this season, but we need to build for next season. (Not to mention that any of those prospects are already better than anyone CB has drafted in the last five years) Yes, they would have been expensive if they worked out, but a franchise pass rusher is worth it. Yes, Montez reportedly had a heart issue (which was misdiagnosed). And he's missed less games than Kwity. Each one had an issue, but who doesn't? Well worth the risk.
  16. If a team with one WR, no run game, and a QB that’s constantly being sacked beats us…. Well, Ballard talks about taking responsibility, right? That starts with him.
  17. Beside Thielen, no one on the Panthers team has more than 19 receptions. They're not a good running team. Their O line isn't that good, forcing Bryce to do a lot of dump offs. And he gets sacked a lot. If their offense consistently moves the ball against us on Sunday, then we're either in tank mode or the FO is blind to Gus's defensive failures.
  18. Ballard cares more for draft picks and cap space than he does about winning. oh wait…you said UNpopular opinion? Nevermind…
  19. Not defending Ballard, but I'm trying hard to think of any great coach who didn't have a very good QB. I agree, he failed to remedy the Luck retirement until this year (and we're still not 100% sure that's even true). Overall, your record is who you are. Average.
  20. I'd say the Offense is good, maybe a B. The Defense...well, is there something below F? Lack of D talent and poor coaching schemes do not a good defense make, lol!
  21. Not sure where you're getting your stats from? We're not top 10 in sacks. We are top 10 in percentage of drives that lead to a score (on defense). We're 7th in giving up passing yards. Yes - lead the league in TFL. (All of the above is skewed with teams not playing the same amount of games. Eye test - Did you watch the NO game? Carr could have baked a cake back there. The only time he was in trouble was when he ran into Buck for the strip sack. We have some CB talent that's injured, hopefully they'll come back healthy next season. But I don't see anything improving in the pass rush department. IMHO, pass rush is the #1 issue on D. I think the O is decent and will be good when AR comes back.
  22. About a week ago I said in a thread something to the effect of - "I'm not conspiracy theorist, but I have to wonder if it's a planned tank". I know the players don't want to lose. I know the coaches don't want to lose. But I'm convinced the FO is doing nothing to win. Didn't address the lack of pass rush, when there were two cheap answers from Washington. I understand that we'd have to pay those guys, but it was a free trial this year. And if one worked out, then they're worth it. So, if we're not it Tank mode, then we're definitely in - stay the course and let it ride mode. So far, that's not going so well.
  23. Okay, we’re not too far apart. I root for them to win, but when they lose I don’t get upset because the light at the end of the tunnel (the draft) gets brighter.
