I agree. But it’s also a matter of personnel. Our CBs aren’t very good, except for Kenny. At least, they’re not good enough to be trusted in a more aggressive D. It is very frustrating.

Can’t make that many mistakes when your defense is bad and your QB is as well. But it comes down to this - if you can’t run the ball, you aren’t going to win. Earlier in the week I said I have the feeling it’s the start of a three game losing streak. I hope I’m wrong.

I know they mentioned Jim’s issues. I don’t recall them mentioning anything like that about the #1 guy on that list. Neither had bearing on how they are as owners. So why go into it?

He is definitely a roller coaster. You never know if he's going to look like Joe Montana or Tony Montana at the end of that movie. We all know that the team is in the playoff hunt because of a little bit of luck and some horrible opponents trying to lose a little more than us. Their QBs have been bigger roller coasters than ours. Except for Stroud, we probably will see more of the same. I'm hoping to win out, we may be favored against the remaining teams except Houston. But in reality I kind of expect a 2-3 finish. I'd love to be wrong.

Cincy has the best WRs we’ve faced. If we can beat them, we should win at least 2 of the next 4. I’m guessing that gets us in. Lose Sunday, and I doubt we get in. Houston is playing lights out.

That makes sense. My argument would be - when does Ballard ever spend big in Free agency? It’s a moot point now, but I thought if we could get him in the building and show him what a great organization it is, he may want to stay. Of course that would also depend on his play being worth it. We’re not going to get a great pass rusher on the cheap unless Ballard hits in the draft. So far he hasn’t. Kwity is good, Dayo is getting better, but neither are great IMHO.

We've played some pretty bad pass blocking O lines with backup QBs, that helps. But they still manage to gouge us on the run (with Grove out) and we're in the bottom quarter of the league in giving up Passing yards too. I kind of ignore the stats and believe my eyes.

Still love the guy. And respect him. It's great to hear a guy who knows the game talk about it. Love what he said about Downs. He's right, the kid is going to be special as long as he can keep healthy.

Didn't it seem like the Colts wanted to lose the last several games just a little less than the other teams? It's been fun though. Especially with Minshew being such a wildcard. You never know what you're going to get from him on each series. Shane has been fantastic. No one thought we'd be in the playoff hunt, even if AR was healthy. (of course, everyone thought Houston was the worst team going into the season. Goes to show what we all know - and what a great QB can do for a team.)

I'll be pessimistic and say this is the start of a three game losing streak. 1 - 4 the rest of the way. 8-9 is a better record that anyone predicted.

I won't laugh that off. CJ Stroud is proof of what the right QB can do for a team. We may be better than them at the skill positions (except QB and Kelce). I'm not sure about defense. Ours isn't very good on the back end. And the tackling has been pretty rough lately.

Remember when the season started, most of the pundits said Houston had the least talent of any team in the league. (Of course, some said it was the Colts too, lol). It goes to show what a smart, accurate QB can do for a team. They remind me of the Colts in 2012 when Luck willed them to the playoffs. And it gives me hope that with AR we can be a real threat next season. I'm not too sure we'll have the same outcome when we face them at the end of the year.

...that this team is in the playoff hunt. Don't get me wrong, I love it and I hope it happens. What makes it hard to believe is how ...mediocre (don't want to use the term bad) this team is. Minshew is a roller coaster. JT is out more than he plays, and except for MPJ we really didn't have another WR threat until yesterday. Yes, Downs shows a lot of promise. The defense is near the bottom in just about every important category. Justifiably so, with the inexperience at CB, and missing Grove. (But I love how Jones is playing, and Kenny is a stud). I understand that the main reason we're in the hunt is because of the weak schedule, but you play who you play. We seem to want to lose a little less that the teams we're facing, lol! All that being said, I'm excited we're in the hunt. I don't know how long it's going to last because I wait for that shoe to drop every game now. But it's fun.

Every NFL QB can throw the ball deep. But throwing deep with accuracy is the hard part. Minshew surprised me with those throws today. At the very least it will make teams think twice about stuffing the box now.

Not a big Gus fan. But I do think he’s smart enough to play a defense that takes advantage of (and is restricted by) the personnel he’s given. Even though that soft defense when we have a lead is so frustrating, it’s probably statistically the way to go.
